Waking baby from a nap?

Anonymous

Baby girl very very VERY rarely naps. She is 6 months old and a very active little baby full of nonstop energy. Today, she has been napping for nearly 4 hours now! I keep checking on her. She's breathing. She's moved. No fever. So I know she's ok. We dont have anything going on today...but should I wake her or just let her continue sleeping until she gets up on her own? I've never had a kid that napped this long.

That’s ok. My baby girl is 7 months and does that every once in awhile. Means they’re going through a growth spurt so they sleep a lot at times. Just keep an eye on her.

Honestly for daytime naps I would probably not let mine go over 3, because it would screw up her bed time too much and then suddenly your going through a whole week of sleeping problems. I just traveled with my 6mth old to one time zone over and now her sleep and bed time is screwed up so bad. (Naps went horrible, now her going down to bed is horrible) If you can deal with that than by all means “don’t wake a sleeping baby”. However baby’s thrive on routine too so 🤷🏼‍♀️ that’s just me

Omg my daughter is 7 months and is extremely active like yours. She once took a 1.5 hour nap and I was checking on her to make sure she was breathing too lol How do you guys do naptime? I would love tips. Mine is also a bad sleeper at night

Ooooh Cat...if only I had some advice. She refuses to go on a schedule. Except her bedtime routine is pretty solid. Dinner at 6, bath, jammies, chill time with daddy, and then she knocks out with a bottle at 7:30. But naps...they dont really exist. Sometimes she'll fall asleep when we go to pick her brother up from school...but other than that...she gave up her naps around 4 months. I lay her down around 10:30 each morning to give her some chill time, but she spends most of that time kicking the crib rails and blowing raspberries in disapproval. She's quite the sassy thing. My son was the complete opposite. He thrived on a schedule and stuck to it like clockwork. He's still that way. But he was also a very calm and chill baby. Every baby is different so...🤷🏼‍♀️ I dunno girl. Good luck!!! Cause I know it's exhausting with these high energy girls. Lol

I wake my baby after 3 hours because otherwise he won’t sleep at night.
