Waking Too Early

My 9 week old goes to bed every night at 8:30. He wakes up for a feeding somewhere between 3:00 - 4:30 and will be back to sleep 20 -30 mins later. All that’s great, but he wakes up around 6:00-630 consistently. Anything I can do to push back his awake time?

I've heard changing bedtimes has an effect on when babies wake up in the morning, but some babies are just early risers.

That may just be his wake time. My LO did the same so I slowly pushed her bedtime back to 6:30-7. She now sleeps 6:30-7 to somewhere around 6:30 every night. I think it's a little harder to change their wake up time because it is based on their internal clock.

We had the exact same situation and solved it. We don’t allow our 10 week old to sleep between 8 and 10pm. He takes an evening nap and then is up til 10. Wakes up around the same time as yours and then can usually sleep til 8 depending on the commotion in the house. Once he starts sleeping til 6 (when we get up) without having to stop in the middle of the night we will change his bedtime.

This is the dream! I wake up everyday at 5:45 to feed then walk the dog. But baby wakes up at 4 or 4:30 so I’m pretty much awake starting at 4. My suggestion, get a dog! And then you can be ok with waking up so early 👌

Our boy goes to sleep around the time we do, at like 11 or 11:30 and he sleeps til 8:30! He’s done this since 1.5 months when we started cosleeping. I think even if he wakes up earlier he understands it’s sleepy time because that’s what everyone else is doing

If you keep it the same, as he gets older he will sleep longer lengths and sleep in. I wouldn’t change anything.

Ugh we had that "natural" wake up time for freaking forever. I just went to bed at the same time as her or shortly after for a while. I don't remember how we got her sleeping later but eventually it happened. There's hope!

6-8 am is a normal wake up time for kids. I would take what you can get!! The sleep you're describing at 9 weeks old is AMAZING.
