My Pedi actually told me to introduce PB at her 4MO visit. He told us to do the allergy test first. Day 1, put a tiny tiny bit on her lip. No reaction. Proceed to day 2. Add a little bit on her tongue. Still no reaction. So shes good to eat PB. I’ve added it to her banana purées. Talk to your Peds doctor.

Oh and I gave her all natural PB at the time. None of that skippy stuff since it has lots of extra no good things for baby.

We started all natural pb at the approval of her ped at 6mo. Same with eggs.

My doc had us start everything at 6 months. Pb, fish, eggs, etc. I will note that we have no allergies in our families though.... that makes a difference.

My pediatrician told me to eat nuts or nut butters several times a week while breastfeeding and then she gave me the go ahead to try actual peanut butter at her 6 month apt. I am not sure why but I was really nervous about it so I finally let her try it at her 9 month appointment....I gave it to her in the parking lot before walking her in because I was so paranoid!!! She ended up being fine and she loves nut butters now!!

I was just reading an article on allergies. They said 4-6 months. https://www.babycenter.com/609_food-allergies-are-on-the-rise-but-new-science-offers-new-so_XXX-XXXX2.bc?scid=Universal%20link Also, I gave my kids regular old skippy/jiffy/whatever I had that worked and was on sale. They’re fine. They’re healthy eaters, good weight...great little humans who love foods like chickpeas, shrimp and fish. So, no judgment on what Pb you pick.

We gave my son peanut butter as soon as he started on solid food around 4 months. It was a good source of protein and he loves it.

Babies should not consume any foods, until at least 6 months (their guts are literally not ready to handle foods until 6 mos), after that they can eat whatever you eat. Check out Baby Led Weaning, the best thing ever!!

ASAP. I waited until her 9mo visit and did it an hour before the appt in case of a reaction. Pediatrician said any reaction will happen within 2 hours of eating.
