Will my baby lose weight while teething?

My 22 week old already has a tooth that is just bursting through and he has been more fussier when it comes to nursing. He used to feverishly devour most of the contents of my breasts but now I feel as if he is eating in less frequency and eating less. Do babies tend to slow their weight gain or lose weight while teething? I am worried about this!

My son lost a little of weight when his first teeth came in at 6 months. He wasn’t finishing his bottles and I too worried about it. But I think it was because sucking hurt. At his docs appt, he wasn’t concerned about the weight loss and said he’d gain it back. Keep track of his diapers for hydration, and call his ped if you have more concerns.

It’s not abnormal. If you can get a few of those fresh fruit feeders, then I’d suggest popping in some frozen fruit. It’s good for teething , a few extra calories and hydration. You can make milk popsicles too

My little one wasn’t eating a whole lot but got her first tooth today and just wanted to nurse all day. If I put her down she would freak out.
