So we're going on a small road trip (3-4 hrs) to the in-laws over new years. What kind of toys do you bring for the ride. She'll be 14 months then. I give her my phone as a last resort but I don't want that to develop into a habit.
I'm a first time mom, and last winter my daughter was a baby baby and I could put her in her car seat and cover her up for the winter. This year I'm not sure how to keep her warm when I go out, especially since pants are typical really thin. Do I dress her in one of those fleece hooded jumpers under her coat and hat? Or is that over kill?
We will be staying indoors most of this cold season and I don't know what to do with her. She's good with playing on her own and I plan on practicing letters and numbers and colors. Will get some paint to play with but that's all I've got and I worry I'll get bored with doing that everyday. Unfortunately, I don't really have friends to bring around for a change of pace... More

I'm not sure if I'm feeding my little one enough and healthy. Breakfast: cut fruit (banana, plum, grapes, or whatever we have) and slice of whole grain cinnamon raisin toast. Lunch: slice of deli turkey ham or chicken and a slice of whole grain toast smeared with peanut butter. Dinner: usually what we're eating. My 12 month old is still waking up 3+ times a night looking to nurse and comfort. I don't know how to break this, mommy and daddy need sleep! I've been pushing her nursing times further apart to hopefully work on sleep training next. Any tips from anyone?
