My baby is getting ready to start pre-school. I have an option between a montessori (which every parent who has a child there loves) and a french immersion pre-school (which sounds good too but not montessori). The montessori goes on until the child is 5 and the french american academy till 8th grade (the curriculum is the same a the Lycée Français apparently, so a potential high school). Does... More
At our most recent doctors appointment, he said that my 20 month old toddler should already be eating on her own and should be able to use her spoon and fork too. So we are trying to teach her to eat on her own (We feed her dinner and let her watch Clifford). Some foods like french toast she will eat using a fork, and will sometimes get frustrated and fling things around if he cant pick up a p... More
Hi parents! My baby is going to 19mo soon. We read a lot together. We play catch, pretend play in the garden and with her tea set. Do you have other ideas for activities to do with a tot her age? She goes to different libraries and music together programmes in the mornings with her nanny, so preferably not a repeat of those exact things. Thank you!
Can't seem to find the related thread about thinking bad things constantly. But here goes another one: I'm traveling to CA for work all of next week and I can't stop thinking about all the things that could go wrong during my absence. Also, I've never been afraid of aeroplanes but now I'm terrified that something will happen to me and... you know... I work from home everyday... More
My baby is 18mo and I'm a working mum. I'm curious about other working mums' schedules. I feel like I don't utilise my time efficiently enough (or maybe I'm wrong) and as a result of that I don't seem to have as much time for my pet projects and various hobbies while at the same time making the time to relax.
Hi SF parents! I'll be in San Francisco next week for work. I'm traveling without my munchkin. As much as I'm going to miss her, I also want to use this time and do some "me" things. Can you recommend your favorite exercise studios that I can get an early morning 7ish am workout some around Fell St and Masonic Ave? I will run a couple of times when I'm there but I'... More
SUPER place! Lots of kid friendly foods. Enough space for my tot to walk around. So many other super friendly moms with children too. There was also one mum nursing at the end of the bar. Afternoons aren't terribly busy, so a great time to bring kids. We had a great time. I forgot to check if there are changing stations in the bathrooms :/
There's a chocolate museum in lower Manhattan! It's about 5000sqft so not too big, perfect for a little tot to walk around. They also have a childrens area, demos and sampling! I can't seem to find it on Winnie, but here's the link! http://www.mrchocolate.com/museum/
Last minute recommendation: The webop family jazz party is today in the Timewarner Center. I've been to the previous it's a lot of fun, going again today and looking very forward to it! http://academy.jazz.org/webop-family-jazz-parties/
The galerie and the collections it houses are beautiful! But it can be challenging to go there with a tot. Babies have to be on a sling, aren't allowed to walk. No strollers either. Its a smaller space, so thats understandable. Also, they only let 2-3 sets of people inside at a time because the landing area is so small. So be prepared to spend some time waiting in line outside for the bottl... More
