Highlights from 2024
This year Winnie helped a record number of families find the childcare they need! Over 659K parents found child care on Winnie with 153K different child care providers across the United States.
To put this in perspective, there are 13.7M households with children under 6 in the United States. 63% of these households have all parents in the workforce which means there are 8.6M potential buyers of childcare. Of these families, 35% use no form of paid childcare which leaves us with 6M households paying for childcare in 2024 in the US. We helped place over 10% of these households with their childcare arrangement!
We grew significantly this year. Winnie was named to the Fastest Growing Companies by the Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row. Our growth was fueled by new features like summer care search, a brand new iPhone app, and many improvements for those child care providers who rely on Winnie to reach new families.
One story we won’t forget: This year, a mom shared how Winnie helped her find the perfect childcare. As a nurse with unpredictable hours, she struggled to find care that fit her schedule—until she discovered a nearby in-home provider on Winnie offering flexible hours.
Looking Ahead to 2025
We have some big things planned for 2025. With our after-school care search, we’ve already been helping parents of school-age kids but we’ll be taking that even further. If you have kids ages 6-12, expect more help from Winnie this year.
Another huge focus this year: expanding our tools for care and education providers. We'll be making it easier for providers and parents to connect right away, which means less wasted time and effort on both sides.
