Strollers with 2 kids

I will have a two year old and a newborn in about 5 months and I was wondering what everyone did to get two kids around. Is it worth it to get a double stroller or is there an easier way?

Loved my Phil and ted double stroller. Had three kids all 2 years apart. Some sort of two kid stroller option is a must for me. They also make strollers with standing pads on the back

I did a double stroller for mine who are 20 months apart and it was really helpful! Just get one that has a kickboard attachment because that will be useful when your older child would rather stand than sit.

We have children 2 years apart and it’s nice having a double stroller it does take up a lot of room in the car. And our oldest is walking more now but when he gets tired it’s nice to have somewhere he can sit and we can still be on the move. The extra storage space in a double stroller is great too

I have three kids. First two are two years apart, second and third just Over one year apart. I loved having double stroller in both situations. I had a stroller with a bassinet attachment. Babywearing is great, but I wanted a sort of base station for when needed. I could change baby’s diaper in the bassinet, give my back a break, go to bathroom, etc.

I carried my infant in a wrap/carrier while pushing my 19 month old. Eventually my toddler started walking and riding his balance bike along side. I wish I would have gotten a stroller board, but didn’t know what it was til now. Sometimes my toddler would try to climb into the basket part to sit because he got tired of walking and I’d have to carry his bike. We eventually bought a used Phil and Ted stroller (loved it but hubby hated the obnoxious orange). Now we have the Evenflo Pivot Xpand, and will be getting the stroller board for our 3 year old when our 3rd comes along next month. For now we use it with our 2 and 3 year old, but can’t wait to try it out with all three

Get a double stroller FOR SURE. But I would also get some sort of baby carrier that works best for you! You will use both, I can tell you that for sure and it’s always great to be prepared with both in case of anything. So both would be a good investment. Let me know if you need help choosing the perfect baby carrier to fit your needs, I know a site that helps you match to one!

I’m in the same situation where I’m 27 weeks pregnant and have a 2 year old as well. Thanks for this post!

I have a double stroller...not the side-by-side. It’s the convertible one. I’ve used it a few times bc the car seat was really difficult to get in and out. (Baby was born in June.) It was WAY easier to wear my newborn in a carrier and push my toddler in the single seater.

I’m following this as I will be in the same situations with a brand new baby and a fresh 3 year old. I love going on walks and will want to continue that but have very little storage. So would love to know my option a.

Definitely highly recommend the Joovy Qool!! Its a single to double stroller so if they both need to ride they can, but if you only have one of them, or the older one wants to walk, or you feel like using a carrier for the younger one, you can go back to single mode super easy. It's maybe a little more expensive than other doubles, but it's a lot cheaper than other single to double strollers on the market. But it still feels like a luxury stroller. By far one of my favorite baby purchases! My boys are 13 months apart. Oh and its compatible with just about every infant carseat...at least the major brands anyway.

I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old baby. I recommend the evenflo xpand it comes with an infant car seat and toddler seat. Turns from a single to double stroller with no extra parts. When my toddler wants to walk I turn the toddler seat into a bassinet for my little one. It has plenty of space for groceries. I really love it. Hope this helps.

I had two babies 2.5years apart and then a baby. I struggled when the first two were little but had learned a bit and strategized when the 3rd came... I used a baby carrier and one stroller when I need it and didn’t go out when it was nap time so that I wouldn’t be stuck trying to carry sleep baby and kids. I switched my purse and diaper bag to one stylish designer book bag so that I would be hands free. I kept a larger bag in the car with changes of clothes and other supplies. I traded the huge heavy stroller for a nice lightweight umbrella style stroller. I ordered a fold up portable potty with the matching bags on Amazon & carried toilet paper, wipes, Clorox wipes, gloves, trash bags....so if someone needed to go to the bathroom, we just had to pull over. I started ordering groceries online where I could and I ordered all of the household products from amazon prime/mom using their subscribe and save service. My motto was to travel as light as I could and have as much as I could come to me...verses trotting around town with two small children and a baby.. Anything that was heavy or bulky or not multi functional....I didn’t use it.

Lastly we had a double stroller and several other single strollers. But they super heavy when you have sleeping children and bags. I’m petite and it’s hot most of the time here and after a few long days with it...I just couldn’t do the double stroller anymore lol.

We have the uppababy vista. Perfect for two without the super wide footprint.

We have a double but end up making the older one walk ...its good for all day trips when the toddler wants to rest. If you have space and money its helpful if not you can live without it. Just use an umbrella stroller for the older one

Double stroller all the way. As long as you have not aloud your child freedom to roam. It is hard to go backwards. Buy a used stroller and when your done you can resale it. Double strollers can be a challenge to shop with. I love having a Bob stroller.

Go for double. Suggesting baby jogger. Worth the investment for long term until from baby even 5-6yrs. Testimonial, rented one last year for Disney for 6yr old daughter & niece. By far, most light weight, convenient stroller.

We have a 2 month old and 13 month old.. we use ours all the time even though it is a hassle to get it out and put the seats in. Our car seat can be used for it as well so our newborn stays in it or sometimes the actual seat so she isn’t so confined. It also has a step for when one is older so they can step and ride and there’s a bench too. So my husband will push and step up on it like the child he is lol. The basket it has a pretty decent sized so when I go grocery shopping I’ll put groceries in it. Sometimes when we grocery shop I will put the 1 yr old on the cart seat with a cover and the newborn in a hammock. We also had a 20% off too so it was worth it.

I did baby wearing and got a collapsible wagon for all our junk. The wagon takes up same space as a stroller would. 2yr old can walk or ride depending on energy. The side comes down to make a bench seat it has seatbelts and a sun shade. I've even had him curl up and nap in it. Just make sure if you get a double stroller it will fit in your car. We had that issue when we were measuring they were all too big.
