First Steps 4K (Free Pre-K)

We offer First Steps 4K, a FREE high-quality, full-day four-year-old kindergarten to qualifying children in South Carolina! Classes are taught by licensed teachers and help prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. We’ve also been parent-trusted for more than 45 years! We’ve been providing early care and education for families across the country since 1975. We invite you to join our family! Our preschool program is designed to encourage our three-year-olds to develop respect and appreciation for other cultures through our global curriculum, including weekly Spanish classes taught by an experienced bilingual preschool teacher. Children learn language skills through stories, music, and games in an immersive, interactive environment, with a learning program tailored to preschoolers’ unique needs.

Georgia Pre-K

For Four- and Five-Year-Olds Who Reside in Georgia. Georgia’s Pre-K Program is a FREE state lottery-funded educational program for all age-eligible four-year-old children in Georgia. The purpose of Georgia’s Pre-K Program is to prepare children for success in kindergarten and later school years. The program operates on the regular school system calendar for the length of the school day. The enrollment process involves submitting an enrollment form, birth certificate, utility bill, hospital record, and immunizations. To participate, children must be four years of age on or before September 1 of the school year and must be a resident of Georgia. Proof that a child is age-eligible and is a Georgia resident is required to register for Pre-K.

Georgia's Pre-K Program is a lottery funded educational program for Georgia's four year olds to prepare children for Kindergarten. Children four years of age on September 1 of the current school year who are Georgia residents are eligible to attend Georgia's Pre-K Program during this school year.

Young children are permeable learners, meaning they have the capability to learn many concepts at once. At four years old, our students in the preschool learning program, led by experienced preschool teachers, are getting ready to incorporate all that they are learning at the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional levels in order to make that important transition to kindergarten. Our focus on higher-level thinking within a safe and nurturing learning environment, where students learn to approach problems and attempt new challenges with an “I Can” attitude, means that they can carry these foundational skills with them to kindergarten and beyond.

At this exciting stage, your curious and energetic 2- or 3-year-old is eager to explore, learn, and grow! Our Early Preschool & Explorer Program provides a nurturing, structured environment that supports brain, body, and social-emotional development, helping your child build confidence and independence as they transition from toddlerhood to preschool. Through engaging activities, hands-on learning, and purposeful play, we help your child develop essential early learning skills while making new friends and having fun!
