Drop-In Care

We remain committed to supporting our community in any way that we can. That includes drop-in care to help families as routines change. With Flex Care, you can purchase child care days ahead of time, so you have a flexible, reliable, simple way to navigate scheduling needs. Prepaid Flex Care cards can be purchased in five-day increments, which are honored for one full year. Flex Care is also a perfect option if you stay home but need an occasional day off, or to take advantage of our summer program options.

Preschool program designed to create a strong academic and social foundation. Teachers introduce math, literacy, and science. Activities also include music, movement, art, pretend play, and group games. Children become an active part of their classroom community.

Beginning Preschool

The Beginning Preschool program is a program for children starting at 2.5 to 3.5 years. Preschoolers in this classroom will experience hands-on learning daily through a wide range of activities, develop fine motor skills that will help with writing, and practice gross motor skills outdoors to gain better control over larger muscles. Our Flex Care program allows you to purchase child care days in advance. That way, you can use them when you need them—all year long. You’ll love the reliability and flexibility, and your child will love our proven early education curriculum and fun, safe, secure environment. Prepaid cards come in five-day increments and can be bought at your school. Each is good for one full year. Once you’ve completed the enrollment paperwork, just call 48 hours in advance to reserve your spot.

Great Start Readiness Program

Experts agree that children who have quality early learning experiences are better prepared to be successful in school and throughout life, so Wee Discover offers the Great Start Readiness Program as part of Great Start Collaborative-Oakland. GSRP is a free, high quality preschool program that, like Head Start, uses research-based curriculum to prepare children both academically and socially. This program is certified as very high quality by the Early Childhood Investment Corporation. Half- and full-day openings at certain schools and childcare centers, with transportation available at select sites. To enroll, children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the upcoming school year. GSRP and Wee Discover are committed to ensuring all children under the age of 5 receive routine developmental screenings.
