The Gardner School’s private Kindergarten program, available at select locations, offers a full-day, research-based curriculum designed to provide an academic advantage in a nurturing and engaging environment. With smaller class sizes—one teacher for every 15 students—our program ensures personalized instruction and hands-on learning. Using Open Court Reading, students develop independent reading skills through explicit, systematic instruction, while Math Expressions, based on National Science Foundation research, encourages deeper mathematical thinking and problem-solving. The Learning Without Tears curriculum enhances writing, literacy, and digital skills through multi-sensory techniques, fostering well-rounded academic growth. Kindergarteners explore daily lessons in interactive learning centers, applying concepts through real-world, hands-on activities. Technology is seamlessly integrated into the curriculum with educational games and digital exercises on computers and iPads, preparing students for future academic settings. Parents stay connected through real-time updates, photos, and progress reports via our communication app, KITE binders, and teacher conferences. Full-day program providing a kindergarten experience that will fully prepare children for elementary school. Child-led and project-based curriculum encourages teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Daily routine includes STEM activities and interactive games. Caring teachers ensure that your child gets plenty of practice in math, reading, writing, and science.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten children have a prospective all their own. Active, inquisitive and eager to learn, they flourish in an environment that lets them learn through exploration and communicate through language, song and rhyme. Scott Foresman-Addison-Wesley Math includes everything to satisfy this unbounded curiosity and energy with a rich range of materials and activities. Children use grouping strategies and patterns to explore numbers to 20. They use handwriting skills to write numbers, sequence, order, or compare groups of objects and numbers to 20. Children use objects to act out joining and separating groups, then write addition and subtraction sentences that show sums and subtraction to and from 10. They'll explore units of measurement, shapes and solids, and the concepts of time and money.

Our before & after school program is offered for children ages 5-12 on regular school days. We also offer full-day programs for all out of school days and camps during school breaks, including Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer Camp.
