Kama‘aina Kids Before School Care offers K-6th grade kids supervised activities, quiet activities and homework completion, each week-day morning from 6am until school opens. Ideal for parents who have an early start to commute to work. We have built our After School Program to include trained staff that genuinely care about children and their development, programs that nurture and educate, and a dedication to partnering with each school to achieve this.

School-Age Childcare Program

Early Bird/ After school care

Early Bird- $5.00 a day from 6am-7am. Parents who need/want to they can bring their child/children earlier. A.S.C- $15 a day from Mon. - Thur. 2:45pm-5:15pm & Fri. from 11:45am-3:45pm. Parents who need/want extra time. We have the option of Tutoring- $30 an hour.

Reading Program (3-5)

The Kumon Reading Program starts your pre-readers off with fun “look, listen and repeat” worksheets. Colorful illustrations help connect words to familiar objects, to start putting words together. Your child will progress to identify nouns, verbs and adjectives, and use them within sentences.

Math Program (3-5)

The Kumon Math Program will start developing your child’s very first math skills, including counting, writing numbers, mental calculations and even addition and subtraction.

Reading Program (3-5)

The Kumon Reading Program starts your pre-readers off with fun “look, listen and repeat” worksheets. Colorful illustrations help connect words to familiar objects, to start putting words together. Your child will progress to identify nouns, verbs and adjectives, and use them within sentences.

Math Program (6-12)

For kids 6-12, practice really does make perfect. The Kumon math curriculum helps your child develop a firm foundation in arithmetic, fractions, decimals and more, while improving study skills. By independently solving a wide range of math problems, your child will continually progress and be challenged to succeed.

Two-Year Old Program

Children grow and change dramatically from ages 24 to 36 months. Small groups help two-year-olds handle these changes more easily. In groups, keiki practice and improve their social skills. Children become more independent as their self-help skills grow. Storytelling, finger-plays and songs help keiki develop verbal skills. Kama‘āina Kids provides meals and snacks. As children become ready, toilet training begins. Parents provide diapers and wipes.

Toddlers

Our informal environment gives toddlers a variety of sensorimotor challenges. Toddlers enjoy singing, story time, dancing, walks and more. Practicing known words and learning new ones helps children focus on language development. Always on the go, toddlers get the chance to explore their environment and build their motor skills.

Child Care Program

KHP Daycare and Preschool

Nature- and arts-rich preschool serving ages 2–6. Daily rhythm includes music, gardening, creative play, and ʻohana-centered care. Drop-in Care also available for local and visiting families
