Our teachers provide a warm, caring, joyful environment that encourages preschoolers’ natural curiosity, and instills confidence in their innate abilities. By balancing traditional instruction in reading, writing, and math with art, music, and foreign language, the Stratford preschool curriculum teaches 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, and problem solving. The open, caring, family-oriented atmosphere at Stratford School helps preschoolers feel safe – physically and emotionally – and nurtures the whole child, both mind and heart. Note: Part-time programming is subject to availabilty.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Stratford pre-kindergarten curriculum teaches students to ask questions and think critically. Pre-K students begin their day with imaginative STEAM play, designed to develop their natural curiosity and problem-solving skills. They enjoy Spanish class several times a week, and progress at a faster rate than other pre-K students because of Stratford’s focus on English language fundamentals. You’ll find that your child’s teachers care deeply about each student and about their families. The relationships and friendships your child develops here will shape their future success. Note: Part-time programming is subject to availabilty.

Toddler

Our Toddler Montessori Program is a fun, loving, and respectful place for our youngest students to become independent and self-confident individuals. Our daycare and childcare programs are Montessori-inspired, and offer best-in-class daycare and childcare for toddlers. We encourage them to explore their rich classroom environments by making their own choices from among a wide variety of developmentally appropriate materials. Our resourceful Toddler classrooms promote language, math, practical life exercises, science, and the arts as well as fine and gross motor activities. Individual attention is paid to promoting each child’s emerging language skills and each child’s curiosity to explore all of the learning materials and the outdoors. The primary goal is to support the children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth and to nurture their sense of being in a secure and stimulating environment.

Our preschool program provides an enriching hands-on learning experience with specially formulated Montessori materials for math, language, sensorial exploration, practical life activities, art, science, second language, music, history, and geography. Our preschool children develop observation and problem-solving skills. They are able to achieve this by manipulating, experimenting, and discovering through Montessori materials and prepared environment. Children begin to move from the concrete to the abstract as they prepare for the more complex studies used in our Montessori Kindergarten program.

After Care Program

Toddlers

Toddler curriculums have interesting weekly themes. Every week a new topic such as bugs, dinosaurs, zoo animals, shapes, farm animals, etc is introduced to the class. Simple learning activities and worksheets are provided to the students according to the level of the students. Students need to complete 18 months to join this program. Students need not be potty trained to enroll to this program. The class is setup for a small group of 12 students with age appropriate activities. Teacher to student ratio is 1:6. Our toddler group has a separate play yard where they get to play outside twice a day. Our toddlers have a structured program with plenty of freedom to explore and socialize with friends. Their day is busy with arts and craft activities, songs and movements, story time, group activities and much more. Once a toddler in this program reaches 24 months, at the request of parents we can move the toddler to the Preschool-2 program or extend the child's stay in the toddler program until the child is 30 months.

Preschool-2

Preschool-2 curriculums have interesting weekly themes. Every week a new topic such as bugs, dinosaurs, zoo animals, shapes, farm animals, etc is introduced to the class. Simple learning activities and worksheets are provided to the students according to the level of the students. These classrooms are usually for 16 to 24 students with a typical teacher to student ratio of 1:8 or 1:10. We offer a structured program with a variety of fun activities to keep our twos busy. They are introduced to a few Montessori practical life activities, letters and sounds, counting activities, music movement, crafts and much more.

Summer Camp

In Challenger’s enjoyable summer program, teachers and administrators strive to instill in students a love for learning that will last a lifetime. They prepare students with a bedrock foundation of knowledge, encourage them to take responsibility for themselves, and help them develop logical and independent thinking skills. Our students have loads of fun along the way! Challenger offers both half-day and all-day summer programs. In our summer program, uniforms are not required.

These classrooms are usually for 16 to 24 students with a typical teacher to student ratio of 1:8 or 1:10. We offer a structured program with a variety of fun activities to keep our twos busy. They are introduced to a few Montessori practical life activities, letters and sounds, counting activities, music movement, crafts and much more.

Preschool-3

Students need to be at least 3 years and fully potty trained to enroll in the program. The classrooms are setup for 24 students with a teacher to student ratio of 1:12. The program offers a full range of Montessori activities practical life, sensorial activities, language, math and cultural topics. Teachers present individual as well as group lessons to the students. Along with the Montessori activities, weekly themes are added to the curriculum. Every week students are introduced to a new subject such as planets, dinosaurs, bugs, reptiles, amphibians, community helpers etc. Students complete a math and a language worksheet each day that is created according the theme of that week. Students' progress is tracked by the class teachers and communicated to the parents in parent teacher conferences which are held twice a year.
