Baby Steps

The path to a lifetime of learning begins in our Baby Steps program. A baby's first year is full of growth and development, and we provide your baby with love and support as they reach those first milestones. The Preschool Explorers program for two-year-old children provides an introduction to the preschool environment. Learning is guided by the emerging interests of your child and is built on their natural desire to discover and celebrate their budding independence.

School Age Program

Our before & after school program is offered for children ages 5-12 on regular school days. We also offer full-day programs for all out of school days and camps during school breaks, including Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer Camp.

Flexible Care

Preschool Explorers

The Preschool Explorers program provides a nurturing and creative environment for two and three-year-olds. Children engage in age-appropriate activities such as filling containers at the water table, stacking blocks, and working on puzzles in large, bright classrooms designed to stimulate exploration and learning. The program emphasizes individualized lesson plans, daily teacher-family communication, and the development of social, creative, and self-help skills. Junior Kindergarten

The Junior Kindergarten program is for four- and five-year-olds who miss the September cutoff for public or private school Kindergarten and who have completed a preschool program. It prepares them for kindergarten by focusing on literacy, math, science, and social studies. Children engage with stories, letters, sounds, and words to enhance literacy, while math concepts are taught through hands-on activities. The program also develops handwriting skills with creative materials and includes technology instruction. Social skills are fostered through interactive play and activities.

Before & After Care

Learning and fun continue beyond the school day. Our school-age program, for children ages 5–12, is designed to match children's growing independence and expanding abilities. Students enjoy sports, games, and arts and crafts while forming friendships and working together. A quiet space for homework helps build focus and responsibility, while giving families peace of mind as they balance work and child care.

Our Links to Learning curriculum builds vocabulary, introduces early math concepts, and helps children begin to use simple reasoning. Spanish is gently introduced, enriching their learning environment.

The Youth Zone (School Age Care)

Pre-K

Summer Camp at The Merit School makes it easy for parents to keep their routines by providing an exciting, safe, activity-driven place for their kids when school is out. Our summer camp program begins at the conclusion of the school year and continues through June, July, and August. Outdoor activities are a mainstay of the program, including swimming!

School Age Before and After Care

Before and after school program focused on the developmental areas of: creative expression, community, literacy, inquiry-based learning, character development, and executive function. Daily routine includes: time for puzzles and games, science, math and construction, library, and creative arts. Teachers will also provide help with homework. Your child will have the opportunity to start clubs, create projects, and become a junior leader. Program provides daily physical activity and snacks.
