Pre-K

Pre-kindergarten is the year of preparation before kindergarten. Our goal is to ensure that every child who completes our pre-kindergarten program is greatly prepared for kindergarten, and this will translate into a life-long love of learning and education. The pre-kindergarten program extends all of the concepts introduced in our pre-school program to a higher level. A sampling of our goals for our pre-kindergarten children is recognition of at least 50 sight words; knowledge of letter sounds; rhyming and word patterning; counting to 100 by ones, fives and tens; addition and subtraction through toys; awareness of the world around them and social difference; the knowledge of the scientific process; and the ability to attempt to solve problems without teacher aid. The children continue with computers and Spanish, in addition to participating in an instrumental music program. *PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer weekend or overnight care.*

Toddlers

The toddler program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children from ages 18 months to approximately 36 months. Each toddler classroom is especially designed to provide a beautiful, nurturing environment; the furniture is child-sized and the classroom materials are meticulously maintained and carefully chosen to meet the developmental needs of children at this age. The daily schedule is intentionally unobtrusive and provides plenty of opportunities for learning, cuddling, napping or socializing indoors and outdoors. The emphasis during the toddler years is on building self confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess. Songs, stories, simple materials, a gentle place and a deep respect for each child ensures that your toddler will truly love his or her school environment and from that, develop a deep long-lasting love for learning. *PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer weekend or overnight care.*

Private Kindergarten

Kids Country Private Kindergarten provides just that foundation. Using Beginning to Read, Write and Listen, Harcourt Math, Let’s Find Out, Starfall, Zoophonics, and additional classroom enrichments, our Kindergartners score at first-, second- and third-grade levels on the Stanford Achievement Test. Field trips are scheduled to enhance the classroom lessons and classroom visitors are invited to bring the outside world into our classroom. Enrichment activities such as tennis lessons, karate lessons, swimming lessons and others are incorporated in the daily plan for our children to help build well rounded adults.

Infants

The hallmark of the Kids Country’s Infant program is our assurance to the parents who leave their precious little ones with us every day, do so with the complete confidence that their children are loved, nurtured, and gently cared for all day. While feeding, diapering, and reading to your baby, our experienced teachers understand the importance of eye contact, soothing tones, and gentle touches to stimulate the young brain. Your child will spend their day in an environment that is safe, warm and feels just like home. You will only bring in bottles and diapers and leave us a schedule to follow each day. Your Baby will nap in their own crib, on their own schedule and follow their own unique curriculum plan.

Infants

Discovery (6 weeks to 12 months): We celebrate the uniqueness of every baby. To do so, we partner with you to understand your baby’s needs. We provided daily logs of feedings, changings, and updates to keep you informed on all the things—big and little—that are taking place every day for your precious little one. Babies in the Discovery Classrooms will have individual schedules to meet their needs and take part in activities that encourage and develop fine and gross motor skills. To help lift ease the workload for families, we’re partnering with the Cuties Care program to provide diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers while they attend our school. For $10 a week, Cuties Care covers the cost of diapers and wipes. We know parents have a million things to manage—we’re happy to cross diapers off the list. Prices are subject to change.

Our goal is to ensure your child has mastered all the necessary skills to enter Kindergarten by providing individual planning, challenging your child, and considering their progress. Pre-K children in the Pathfinders Classroom will strengthen math, science, writing, reading, arts, and physical skills through differentiation and small group activities and work on mastering key Kindergarten-required skills. Montessori Program

The Montessori method is based upon the observations and discoveries of the first female Italian physician, Dr. Maria Montessori. Her philosophy nurtures the joy of learning in children at an early age, providing a framework in which intellectual and social disciplines coexist. She believed that education is a lifelong process, and it should be an aid to life. Her philosophy was that children learn at their own pace and develop according to their own timetable. Their physical, emotional, psychic, and intellectual abilities are interrelated. Children must have freedom, within clearly defined limits, to develop their full potential. Based on this philosophy, Creative Playrooms Montessori Program provides children with a prepared learning environment that helps them think, organize, and observe. Voyagers Summer Camp is all about exploring the world around us and learning about people, places, and things that many of us have only seen on TV or in books. Voyagers (campers) have the flexibility to select from a variety of exciting topics that will take them on incredible journeys to far-off destinations where they will learn about people such as Louis Armstrong, places like the Great Wall of China, and things such as the Eiffel Tower!

School Age

Voyagers (5 years old to 12 years old): The Voyagers Classroom is designed to meet the unique needs of school-aged children. Most activities are child-led, which means students focus on their interests and move easily between activities. The children in this classroom get a balance of flexibility and structure—they have the time and space for schoolwork and fun with games, activities, and outside time. School-age children in the Voyagers Classroom will do homework in a quiet area and be provided with help as needed, enjoy learning stations for STEM, sensory explorations, and building challenges, and join in organized outdoor activities (kickball, soccer, tag-related games) plus reading and arts and crafts.
