Infants
Our infant curriculum starts with regular playtime including belly and music time, exploration, stimulation, as well as nap and feeding times that we keep consistent with your baby’s individual schedule.
Twaddlers
Our curriculum helps twaddlers explore, and it nurtures their increasing need to communicate. By this point in their early childhood development, twaddlers have expanded their language skills, and our curriculum helps to enhance their ability to communicate verbally.

Nido
Nido, which means “nest” in Italian, perfectly describes the environment of our setting for BBI’s youngest age group. Our curriculum for this age grouping, Natural Dialogues, was developed cooperatively by the D.O.C. authors and Bellesini CSC of Trentino, Italy, and is specifically designed for children between the ages of 18 to 36 months. In Natural Dialogues small children are seen as explorers and scientists. The multi-sensory navigations of their environment, the spontaneity of observing, the desire to experience life with and through their body and the pleasure of enjoying human development in a natural way are the focus of this curriculum. An early education center should be a community of practices where children can socially build learning and expertise naturally because the carefully prepared environment by the educators has afforded this. In the educational context, the experiences provided will build reasoning through specific activities designed to provoke thoughtful contemplation by the children. In a social context, the modeling and guiding of the teacher/caregiver and older peers will furnish the children with the examples of accepted practices in their culture.
Preschool
From the Nido program children at BB International progress into the DOC Preschool Curriculum. This phase of the curriculum is built upon children's more developed vocabulary which allows for collaboration and communication to become the cornerstones of all activities. Children are encouraged to work in small peer groups to research and design their projects, form hypotheses, investigate processes and draw conclusions. This encourages children to articulate and defend their ideas, building confidence in their ability to form individual opinions and become the authors of their own learning journeys. Explorations are based on long term projects throughout each year, allowing students to build upon previously mastered concepts, and thus deepen their ability to learn. Through these projects children encounter the basic learning skills such as math, science, social studies, language arts, and expand upon on them. At this stage children enter into a rotation of teachers, each with a unique discipline, style and focus. This allows them to become comfortable with different teaching styles and expose them to a wider range of skills and proficiencies. Preschool students are regularly integrated into and exposed to the Primary class projects, classroom and teachers, and thus continue to reap the benefits of the practice of multi-age groupings and instructional scaffolding.
