Our classrooms are filled with endless learning opportunities to enhance children’s cognitive and language skills with basic academics through small-group activities that encourage investigation, exploration, and discovery. Our scaffolding approach is a critical component in teaching new tasks with multiple steps where our teachers provide support for students. Our children that are now engaging in short sentence conversions are able to absorb information within our curriculum that is designed to support creative expression, literacy and music by fostering their curious minds. By introducing skills that enable independence through enriching art projects and hands-on activities, we are ensuring they are able to expand concepts that were developed in Little Explorers.

Preschool

This classroom provides an enriched and challenging hands-on curriculum that continues to ignite children’s inner curiosity enabling realistic learning opportunities through a solid routine that brings out their creativity. Exploring world geography, reading multicultural literature, researching world cultures, playing traditional games are just some of the ways we are building a community of global learners. Throughout the learning process, our students are able to watch their teacher model, or demonstrate, each step in the task or strategy multiple times. Such modeling and repetition allows students to understand both how to perform each step and why each step is important. In this phase our children are practicing by applying their knowledge and developing it further by learning about the world and its food, music and clothing. Toddler

Our Toddler Montessori Program is a fun, loving, and respectful place for our youngest students to become independent and self-confident individuals. Our daycare and childcare programs are Montessori-inspired, and offer best-in-class daycare and childcare for toddlers. We encourage them to explore their rich classroom environments by making their own choices from among a wide variety of developmentally appropriate materials. Our resourceful Toddler classrooms promote language, math, practical life exercises, science, and the arts as well as fine and gross motor activities. Individual attention is paid to promoting each child’s emerging language skills and each child’s curiosity to explore all of the learning materials and the outdoors. The primary goal is to support the children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth and to nurture their sense of being in a secure and stimulating environment.

Preschool

Our preschool program provides an enriching hands-on learning experience with specially formulated Montessori materials for math, language, sensorial exploration, practical life activities, art, science, second language, music, history, and geography. Our preschool children develop observation and problem-solving skills. They are able to achieve this by manipulating, experimenting, and discovering through Montessori materials and prepared environment. Children begin to move from the concrete to the abstract as they prepare for the more complex studies used in our Montessori Kindergarten program.

Toddler Program (Part time & Full time)

The toddler program is offered to students 23 months old to 3 years old. Full time or part time hours are from 3 days/week to 5 days/week, between 7:30am to 6pm. We have a ratio of 1 teacher to 4 students to provide extra care and support to our growing toddlers. Potty assistance included.

Preschool Full time & Part time Program

We offer safe, reliable, and affordable childcare for children ages 2–6, blending a hands-on, play-based curriculum with thoughtful academic foundations. Your child will learn through interactive monthly themes, daily Spanish circle, phonics, art, science, math, music, and more!

Intermediates

Pre-K

Our Pre-K program prepares children for kindergarten as they learn letter-sound relationships and sight-word recognition, and gain an understanding that writing is used to express thoughts and ideas. Children explore concrete mathematical concepts, such as simple addition and subtraction. Our character education program helps develop the strong social and emotional skills that ensure a successful transition to kindergarten.

Toddlers

Toddler curriculums have interesting weekly themes. Every week a new topic such as bugs, dinosaurs, zoo animals, shapes, farm animals, etc is introduced to the class. Simple learning activities and worksheets are provided to the students according to the level of the students. Students need to complete 18 months to join this program. Students need not be potty trained to enroll to this program. The class is setup for a small group of 12 students with age appropriate activities. Teacher to student ratio is 1:6. Our toddler group has a separate play yard where they get to play outside twice a day. Our toddlers have a structured program with plenty of freedom to explore and socialize with friends. Their day is busy with arts and craft activities, songs and movements, story time, group activities and much more. Once a toddler in this program reaches 24 months, at the request of parents we can move the toddler to the Preschool-2 program or extend the child's stay in the toddler program until the child is 30 months.

Preschool-2

Preschool-2 curriculums have interesting weekly themes. Every week a new topic such as bugs, dinosaurs, zoo animals, shapes, farm animals, etc is introduced to the class. Simple learning activities and worksheets are provided to the students according to the level of the students. These classrooms are usually for 16 to 24 students with a typical teacher to student ratio of 1:8 or 1:10. We offer a structured program with a variety of fun activities to keep our twos busy. They are introduced to a few Montessori practical life activities, letters and sounds, counting activities, music movement, crafts and much more.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Stratford pre-kindergarten curriculum teaches students to ask questions and think critically. They enjoy Spanish class several times a week, and progress at a faster rate than other pre-K students because of Stratford’s focus on English language fundamentals.
