Challenger Middle School studies include higher-level concepts and activities such as writing in active rather than passive voice; solving problems using measures of central tendencies like mean, median, and mode; evaluating the validity of arguments; modeling the Earth with globes and maps; interpreting the mood of a piece of music; and examining the effects of colonization and imperialism on world history. Challenger students take pride in their intelligence and accomplishments!

At the Middle School level, we accelerate our STEAM program with advanced instruction and project-based learning. Technology is integrated throughout our robust curriculum to further develop critical thinking and a deeper understanding of STEAM. Throughout the Middle School experience, our teachers build strong relationships with students that last beyond their time at Stratford. This unique approach empowers students to be self-reliant and to take responsibility for their own learning. Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to explore their passions through a variety of extracurricular, enrichment, and leadership–development activities and school clubs. Pre-Kindergarten

The Stratford pre-kindergarten curriculum teaches students to ask questions and think critically. Pre-K students begin their day with imaginative STEAM play, designed to develop their natural curiosity and problem-solving skills. They enjoy Spanish class several times a week, and progress at a faster rate than other pre-K students because of Stratford’s focus on English language fundamentals. Mandarin Bilingual

Stratford’s newly expanded Mandarin Bilingual program, beginning in Preschool*, builds upon foundational knowledge, skills, and concepts in our accelerated bilingual curriculum. Designed to promote consistency and continuity for young learners, Stratford’s rich STEAM-infused Preschool curriculum is taught by a two-teacher team, one speaking and instructing in Mandarin, and the other in English. This team teaching approach creates an inclusive and responsive space in which individual needs are met, ensuring students feel safe and secure to explore, take risks, and learn without limits. *Program and grades offered vary by campus.
