First Step

The Malvern School provides First Steppers with a warm, stimulating environment and daily opportunities to explore and make choices under the guidance of a caring teacher. Our curriculum focuses on building independence and confidence while engaging in fun, age-appropriate learning activities. Our small group provides a sense of security during this transition period from infancy to toddlerhood. Age ranges for this program are approximate.

Flexible Care

With Flexi-Pass, families can purchase 5 full days of prepaid care to use one at a time or all at once. There are no registration fees, no ongoing tuition, and no long-term commitment — just trusted care at a lower per-day cost.

Transition Program (Ocean Room)

The Ocean Room bridges the gap between infancy and toddlerhood. We focus on building the confidence and self-help skills needed for a smooth transition. In this supportive space, your little one gains independence while remaining in a nurturing, safe environment.

Following Reggio Emilia values, we offer personalized care, gentle sensory play, and a low teacher-to-child ratio. We ensure your little one feels safe and loved while discovering the world at their pace!

Toddler Care Program

Our toddler program provides a nurturing, Reggio Emilia-inspired environment where curiosity leads the way. Through sensory play, creative arts, and social interaction, we foster cognitive and motor growth. Experience a safe, loving space where your child builds confidence and a love for learning!

Infant Program

At this age, your infant is mainly learning through observation and exploration. For example, as our Infant teachers talk and sing with your child during feeding, diaper changes and playtime, your little one is beginning to understand language and conversation. Nurturing interactions like these will fill your child’s day and can be adapted and personalized to meet their individual needs.

Toddler Program

In our Toddler program, you’ll find carefully selected equipment that our newest walkers love to climb on, crawl through and hide in while stretching their gross motor skills. Teachers also use books, toys, games and other materials to create exciting explorations into colors, shapes, science and more.

Shoe-free policy ensures that classrooms are clean and safe for little ones to move around. Daily routine includes time outdoors, group time, and discovery baskets for sensory exploration. Our infant curriculum creates a solid foundation for your little one’s future growth and development. By creating strong bonds, learning through play and stimulating their five senses, even our youngest students are encouraged to explore the world around them in a safe and nurturing environment. Primary caregivers introduce a theme-based curriculum, which is enhanced with enrichment programs such as Singing Sprouts, Spanish Sprouts and Signing Sprouts.

Our curriculum specifically addresses toddlers’ rapid growth and development by catering to their readiness cues, with the older toddler curriculum focused on preparing for preschool and beyond. When they display interest or signs of emerging skills, we can encourage them to move to the next challenge.
