As children transition from the Nido program to our Preschool program, they enter a phase of the curriculum that builds upon on their expanded vocabulary. Collaboration and communication become the cornerstones of all activities. Within this framework, children are prompted to engage in small peer groups, fostering the exploration, design, and presentation of their projects. The FREE SC First Steps program teaches children in South Carolina First Steps 4K programs to be socially and emotionally prepared for public 5K programs. The program aims to teach children the skills they need in communication, motor development, problem-solving, and social development.
