We also offer flexible enrollment options to fit your family’s schedule and additional opportunities during school breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. Drop-In Care

With our Flex Care program, you can purchase child care days in advance to use, as you need them—all year long. You get reliability and flexibility, and your child gets to experience our proven curriculum in a fun, safe, and secure environment. You can purchase prepaid cards in five-day increments through your school, and each is good for one full year. After completing the enrollment paperwork, just call 48 hours in advance to reserve your spot.

Private Kindergarten

Choosing the right private kindergarten environment for your child can be a formidable task as well as an emotional choice parents make to begin their child’s formal educational journey. At The Merit School, we have a platform that allows each child to be immersed in a positive and enriching environment. This positive space promotes a confident child self-image, encourages independence, and sets a specific educational path to meet academic goals based on the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLS). Our private kindergarten curriculum places a heavy emphasis on reading and writing as well as incorporating math, science, social studies, and critical thinking skills. Interactive lessons are implemented through our promethean board, hands-on activities, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math).

Before and After School

Our before and aftercare program is designed to help our children embrace their imaginations and explore their world, while encouraging safe and healthy activities. Our programs have weekly themes that are explored throughout the room which encourage interactive learning in a variety of nontraditional subjects. We also have a study hall area where we provide assistance with homework and projects, and a game area where students have the chance to relax from their challenging days at school. Every student is provided a nutritious morning and afternoon snack, and transportation is provided at no additional cost.
