School Age Before and After Care

Before and after school program focused on the developmental areas of: creative expression, community, literacy, inquiry-based learning, character development, and executive function. Daily routine includes: time for puzzles and games, science, math and construction, library, and creative arts. Teachers will also provide help with homework. Our Montessori kindergarten program has been a cornerstone since 2008, preparing children for academic success through leadership development and advanced skill-building in math, reading, and writing. Graduates consistently excel in mainstream schools, often placing in accelerated programs. We offer both half-day and full-day options, with half-day requiring one prior year in our preschool. This crucial year allows children to integrate years of hands-on learning, reaching new levels of independence and academic mastery before first grade.

Summer Program

At Sonnet we take advantage of sunshine filled days and warm weather to allow children to enjoy and explore the outdoors by visiting the playground and the neighboring park, taking hikes, exploring the woods and even bringing our Montessori work outdoors! We also create a fun-filled summer by exploring themes carefully selected to be both fun, educational and encourage creative thinking. Themes are introduced throughout the day in both group presentations and individual exploration opportunities. Each two or three week session features hands on activities or experiments, projects, artwork, and field trips or in house workshops. Every Friday, weather permitting, is “water day” at Sonnet Montessori! Bring an extra change of clothes for your child as they will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities using water.
