This program focuses on kindergarten readiness skills. Fine motor skills are taken further by teaching children to write their name and use correct strokes to form letters of the alphabet. We further expand the skills they have begun to develop in vocabulary and reading basic words. We create intentional learning experiences to expand their critical thinking skills. Continuing Early Head Start’s critical work, Head Start (HS) further promotes and strengthens school readiness for preschool-aged children from low-income families. Providing care and preschool services for children ages three through five, Educare Academy has teamed up with Lucas County Family Council and Great Lakes Community Action Partnership at several of our Toledo and surrounding locations to offer HS. Our goal? Enhancing children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, so they’re ready to succeed when entering kindergarten.
