The Montessori method is based upon the observations and discoveries of the first female Italian physician, Dr. Maria Montessori. Her philosophy nurtures the joy of learning in children at an early age, providing a framework in which intellectual and social disciplines coexist. She believed that education is a lifelong process, and it should be an aid to life. Her philosophy was that children learn at their own pace and develop according to their own timetable. Their physical, emotional, psychic, and intellectual abilities are interrelated. Children must have freedom, within clearly defined limits, to develop their full potential. Based on this philosophy, Creative Playrooms Montessori Program provides children with a prepared learning environment that helps them think, organize, and observe. The teacher functions as a guide, aiding children in their choice of developmentally appropriate learning materials. This environment, along with the teacher’s role, distinguishes the Montessori Programs from other educational approaches. School Age Before and After Care

Before and after school program focused on the developmental areas of: creative expression, community, literacy, inquiry-based learning, character development, and executive function. Daily routine includes: time for puzzles and games, science, math and construction, library, and creative arts. Teachers will also provide help with homework. Your child will have the opportunity to start clubs, create projects, and become a junior leader. Program provides daily physical activity and snacks.

School Age

Voyagers (5 years old to 12 years old): The Voyagers Classroom is designed to meet the unique needs of school-aged children. Most activities are child-led, which means students focus on their interests and move easily between activities. The children in this classroom get a balance of flexibility and structure—they have the time and space for schoolwork and fun with games, activities, and outside time. School-age children in the Voyagers Classroom will do homework in a quiet area and be provided with help as needed, enjoy learning stations for STEM, sensory explorations, and building challenges, and join in organized outdoor activities (kickball, soccer, tag-related games) plus reading and arts and crafts. Summer Camp

Voyagers Summer Camp is all about exploring the world around us and learning about people, places, and things that many of us have only seen on TV or in books. Voyagers (campers) have the flexibility to select from a variety of exciting topics that will take them on incredible journeys to far-off destinations where they will learn about people such as Louis Armstrong, places like the Great Wall of China, and things such as the Eiffel Tower!

Our after school program is designed to nurture Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® in children ages 5 through 12. Your child can relax, make friends, get homework help and continue to learn while having fun as they explore creative expression, sports, technology, drama, music, games and more.

Get ready for a great start and finish to every school day. In our Before- and After-School Clubhouse for school-age students, we provide a mix of independent and organized activities, education and recreation, plus order and routine for their mornings and afternoons. This program focuses on: daily goal-setting, team-building exercises, healthy physical challenges, homework help, and community projects. We also offer flexible enrollment options to fit your family’s schedule and additional opportunities during school breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. And there may be transportation to and from your elementary school. Ask the director for details.

Drop-In Care

At Childtime, our Drop-In Care program gives you the freedom to purchase child care days in advance. This allows you to use them when you need them—all year long! As a parent, you’ll appreciate the reliability and flexibility while your child enjoys our proven early education curriculum in a safe, secure, fun environment. Our prepaid cards come in five-day increments and are good for one full year. Just call 48 hours in advance to reserve your spot.
