School age care will be available for children who have graduated Kindergarten or first grade. Students will have the opportunity to engage in play-based learning opportunities that make the most of our Minnesota summer, with the program organized into 1-2-week long themed “camps”.

An action-packed summer for children aged 2 and older! Our exciting Wonder Weeks include topics and activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination. We serve healthy food, play outside daily, and take field trips too! Parents will love our app with live streaming video and photo highlights.

Daily routine includes: time for puzzles and games, science, math and construction, library, and creative arts. Teachers will also provide help with homework. Your child will have the opportunity to start clubs, create projects, and become a junior leader. Program provides daily physical activity and snacks.

Open Arms Summer School Age Program

From June through August, Open Arms offers a special school age program with fun weekly themes, built-in VBS week and exciting learning enrichments to provide a safe, supporting and faith-filled summer to children entering kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Summer at New Horizon Academy provides your child a safe environment to learn, play, and explore during those happy summer days. Our SciKids at New Horizon Academy program provides children with opportunities to engage in a wide-variety of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities. From participating in engineering challenges to exploring motion, gravity, and energy, we will have a blast exploring the wonderful world of science.

The Extended Adventure Wrap-Around Care program at The Discovery Center provides a warm and relaxed environment, where children can play with friends and continue to learn while having fun. Play-Grow-Learn When attending before school, children are served breakfast between 7:00-8:00am. After school, children have the opportunity for additional large muscle time, creative activities and games, as well as enjoy some downtime as needed. Snack is served at 4:00pm.

Reading Program (3-5)

The Kumon Reading Program starts your pre-readers off with fun “look, listen and repeat” worksheets. Colorful illustrations help connect words to familiar objects, to start putting words together. Your child will progress to identify nouns, verbs and adjectives, and use them within sentences.
