Preschool Classroom

In our Preschool classroom, children start their journeys into a cooperative learning environment where they can discover interests and learn in a more structured setting. At The Goddard School®, we recognize that classrooms are made up of many unique children and teachers work to create engaging, innovative, play-based lessons with the interests and needs of every child in mind. Through the power of asking a question, your child will learn how to seek answers and advocate for themselves in the classroom. Bridge Classroom

Children in the Bridge classroom are strengthening their self-care skills, growing in their independence and enhancing the skills they need to be successful in a preschool classroom. The Bridge classroom is a purposeful year of preschool prep designed for children with birthdays later in the year or children who may need more time to strengthen self-care skills or social-emotional development. In this classroom, our Wonder of Learning™ education program supports children's independence as they continue to build skills necessary for handwriting and drawing with increased intentionality, learn foundational math concepts and build strong vocabularies.

Bridge Classroom

Children in the Bridge classroom are strengthening their self-care skills, growing in their independence and enhancing the skills they need to be successful in a preschool classroom. The Bridge classroom is a purposeful year of preschool prep designed for children with birthdays later in the year or children who may need more time to strengthen self-care skills or social-emotional development. Our Early Preschool teachers partner with you to help your child learn important independent life skills like potty training and hand washing while paying close attention to all aspects of your child’s development.

Preschool

Your preschooler is beginning to connect letters, sounds and numbers, expanding their world through reading and math. They’re building critical-thinking skills, early physical fitness and an understanding of nutrition. Our teachers support that learning and encourage your child to think in new and different ways.

Busy Bees

Step into the Busy Bees Classroom, and you’ll instantly feel the vibrancy and energy of three- year-olds eager to explore, create, and connect. This space is a bustling hub of hands-on learning, where children engage in dramatic play, construct towers with building blocks, and create masterpieces in the art corner. Here, friendships bloom as children work together in sensory stations, role-play in the pretend kitchen, and solve simple puzzles that strengthen cognitive skills. Teachers introduce early math and literacy concepts through playful activities like counting games, rhyming songs, and scavenger hunts.

Dragonflies

The Dragonflies Classroom is a world of big dreams and bigger adventures. With learning centers designed to spark imaginative play, problem-solving, and creativity, our four-year-olds immerse themselves in storytelling, science experiments, and hands-on exploration. Here, your child will trace letters in sand, build elaborate cities with blocks, and act out stories in a classroom puppet theater. Guided by caring teachers, they develop pre-reading skills, expand their social-emotional understanding, and sharpen their problem-solving abilities.

Our preschool program is designed to encourage our three-year-olds to develop respect and appreciation for other cultures through our global curriculum, including weekly Spanish classes taught by an experienced bilingual preschool teacher. Children learn language skills through stories, music, and games in an immersive, interactive environment, with a learning program tailored to preschoolers’ unique needs.

Four's

Young children are permeable learners, meaning they have the capability to learn many concepts at once. At four years old, our students in the preschool learning program, led by experienced preschool teachers, are getting ready to incorporate all that they are learning at the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional levels in order to make that important transition to kindergarten. Our focus on higher-level thinking within a safe and nurturing learning environment, where students learn to approach problems and attempt new challenges with an “I Can” attitude, means that they can carry these foundational skills with them to kindergarten and beyond.
