MCNS is an independent, play based preschool founded in 1955. Mastered teachers create an enriched, stimulating environment with an emergent, Reggio inspired curriculum centered on social interaction and critical thinking. Open until 6pm during the regular school year and the summer program.

While having fun, they aren’t even aware they are developing reading and math skills. In addition, your child will gain the social skills necessary to succeed in Pre-K and beyond. Our proprietary Seedlings Early Childhood Education Curriculum utilizes theme-based lessons to strengthen your child’s emerging skills in reading, writing, science, technology and math. Additionally, we help prepare your child for the structured learning environment of a kindergarten classroom through teacher-guided instruction and child-led exploration focused on effective communication, the ability to follow instruction and how to work cooperatively with peers.

At the Barat Center, our warm and inclusive community celebrates and values every child fostering an environment where they can explore, play, laugh, learn and grow. Throughout the day the children engage in small pre-literacy and math groups designed to meet their skills sparking joy in discovery.
