Baby Steps

Infants are assigned a primary teacher who will build a loving relationship with them typically staying with their teacher for a full 12 months before moving to the next classroom. Our specifically trained teachers design individual lesson plans using our literacy-rich curriculum and research-based active learning experiences that support emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This promotes brain development and allows infants to learn about the world around them. Your child will be introduced to the basics of American Sign Language, and elements of Baby Yoga with periodic assessments to evaluate a baby’s growth and progression, and to share in the joy as they reach their next stage of development. Preschool Explorers

When your toddler comes to Minnieland, he or she will have many opportunities with which to be engaged. When you visit an Explorers classroom you will see preschoolers painting at an easel, creating a collage at the art table, singing and playing rhythm instruments, building with blocks, stringing beads, playing in the home living area, scooping and pouring at the sensory table as well as interacting with puppets and books in the library. Your child will enjoy the fresh air and exercise in our extraordinary outside learning environments. The student’s actions and ideas generate the weekly activity plans, which enhance the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each child. Summer Camp at Learning Paths Academy makes it easy for parents to keep their routines by providing an exciting, safe, activity-driven place for their kids when school isn’t happening. Put your child in our action-packed summer camp program for school age children, and get ready for a summer filled with exploration, discovery, and endless smiles. Our summer camp program begins at the conclusion of the school year and continues through June, July, and August.

The Youth Zone is our school-age program that enables working parents to know that their child is safe and supported during their working days. Each infant enrolled at Northern Virginia Academy is assigned to a primary care group which ensures the one-on-one attention and care infants need to thrive. This personal, nurturing process fosters a trusting relationship between the child and the primary caregiver where the infant’s developmental needs set the day’s schedule.

Before & After School Care

Our Before And After School Program is offered at our Ashburn and Burke campuses and is open to children ages five to twelve who attend elementary schools in the vicinity of these two campuses. Afternoon snacks are provided to all children. Our program presents a variety of activities to meet the child’s needs: outdoor play, table games, cooking activities, quiet time, arts and crafts and a supervised homework period.
