Voluntary Pre-K

Florida VPK prepares early learners for success in kindergarten and beyond by using educational materials corresponding to various stages of development. Eligible children must live in Florida and be four years old on/before September 1 of the current school year. Incorporate customized learning instruction and opportunities for language and literacy; physical, social and emotional development; mathematic and scientific inquiry; and creative expression through the arts. Assess baseline learning levels to monitor progress in attaining skills. Equip parents with resources to assist their children. Harness a great opportunity for kids to perform better in school and throughout life.

Summer VPK Program

The Village Early Learning Center is proud to offer Summer VPK. Designed for students who will be entering kindergarten in the Fall and who have not yet attended the Florida VPK Program, Summer VPK at The Village offers an excellent opportunity for children to start kindergarten with the knowledge and skills that will help them have a successful kindergarten experience. Summer VPK students benefit from highly qualified professional teachers and engaging, well-equipped classrooms. A nutritious lunch and two healthy snacks are included at no additional cost. Tuition and supplies are covered by the VPK program, and early drop off and extended learning hours are available for an additional fee. Registration must be made in person at The Village Early Learning Center. The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:11, and teachers have a bachelor degree or higher, as well as teaching certification. Enrollment for Summer VPK begins in January of each year and closes when the class reaches capacity.

Toddlers

Toddlers are little busybodies. At The Village Early Learning Center, that’s okay. We balance individual attention with group activities, ensuring that your toddler is using all that energy in productive ways. From trying out the playground equipment to experimenting with art, we give toddlers plenty of opportunities to investigate, explore and play in a safe, secure, yet stimulating environment. Toddler teachers consider the unique emotional needs of each child while promoting good social skills and learning. In accordance with our nationally recognized accreditation (naeyc.org), new concepts are introduced when your child is ready; not on a set timeline.

In our Before- and After-School Clubhouse for school-age students, we provide a mix of independent and organized activities, education and recreation, plus order and routine for their mornings and afternoons. This program focuses on: daily goal-setting, team-building exercises, healthy physical challenges, homework help, and community projects. We also offer flexible enrollment options to fit your family’s schedule and additional opportunities during school breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. And there may be transportation to and from your elementary school. Ask the director for details.

You can purchase prepaid cards in five-day increments through your school, and each is good for one full year. The curriculum is centered on interdisciplinary projects that create engaging learning experiences incorporating the traditional academic principles through hands on, open-ended explorations. Through the use of instructional scaffolding, which allows students of mixed grade levels to interact and work collaboratively, students excel past the confinements and limits set by the traditional grade level system. In order to create this adaptive learning environment we offer limited class sizes and a closely followed teacher/student ratio. Each student in the program receives a customized education plan, known as an Individualized Learning Portfolio, that creates a personalized map for each student’s academic strengths, weaknesses, and goals.

Wondercamp

An action-packed summer for children (ages 2 to 12). Our exciting Wonder Weeks include topics and activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination. We serve healthy food, play outside daily, and take field trips too! Parents will love our app with live streaming video and photo highlights.

KCLA offers before- and after-school services for children at several local K-6 schools. We also offer school-age summer camp with fields trips and special classroom activities. Factory of Fun is a bilingual camp (12mo–8yrs) offering seasonal themes that spark discovery. We blend sports, field trips, and creative play with VESS Thinking Strategies to provoke inquisitiveness, challenging children to achieve deep learning through exciting, hands-on exploration.
