School Age

Our Before and After-School Program invites your child into the Learning Jungle classroom before and/or after their regular school day. Learning Jungle educators take the time to form meaningful relationships with each child, appreciating the increased competency of school-age children by giving them independence but also encouraging and helping them to participate and make the right decisions. Play is still critical for school-age children as they continue to grow their skills in the five domains (social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical). After a long day at school, children look forward to unwinding and stretching their muscles, hanging out with friends, and engaging in a variety of fun, educational activities available at our facility.

Preschool

Preschoolers are more relaxed and cooperative with the advantage of easily engaging, communicating and reasoning with them. Preschoolers enjoy a full day program with activities that encourages them to be active, socialize with their peers, enhance motor and cognitive skills and be creative. The preschool classroom is warm and welcoming with lots of opportunity for interaction with educators and other preschool children. Periodically, learning also takes place outside of the Centre. At Learning Jungle School, children enjoy a variety of trips and outings to the Library, local Fire Station, Zoo and other places of interest, in which parents are also encouraged to participate.

School Age

Infants

We offer a warm, nurturing and responsive environment for infants which includes a designated sleep area and play space. Infants are at a very sensory age–absorbing information, and learning in all areas of development. Educators co-learn with infants by providing toys, materials and activities to help infants develop skills at their own pace. Our educators are well-versed in infant development and care and work with parents to develop routines and schedules for feeding and rest. With this in mind, the first full-time week for a new infant enrollment is focused on observing, bonding, connecting, and getting to know the child’s learning style, interests and needs.

Two's

At Big Blue Marble Academy, we create an environment that nurtures and embraces the high-energy attitudes of two-year-olds by giving them plenty of room to explore. Our curriculum for this age group incorporates music and movement to introduce children to new skills in fun and memorable ways, build their confidence, and help strengthen their love of learning. A typical day can include songs, story time, music, and movement during “Circle Time” and “Free Choice,” which gives children the opportunity to make choices about what activity they would like to participate in based on their own interests. Our childhood program focuses on providing enriching learning experiences for young children in our child care center. Our childhood education classes are designed to support their brain development, promote literacy skills, and introduce new math concepts.

Before and After School Care

We offer before- and after-school care at most of our child care centers. As a part of our before-school program, children may be dropped off in the morning and most locations provide breakfast before transporting or transitioning them to school or one of our onsite school-age or state Pre-K programs. Our after-school programs also offer homework support, learning opportunities, and social skills development for children. We offer various activities across age ranges from structured exploration of different cultures and destinations, to supervised play and games, to more independent play and homework support for the older students. Our after-school program provides homework support and fosters character development through group activities and additional playtime.

Two's

Toddlers

At this age, toddlers become more independent and we encourage their development with a carefully designed program of activities largely through play. Learning Jungle offers a balanced program that allows children to explore, be engaged and develop fine motor, gross motor and cognitive skills. Educators observe and track developmental progress in all five domains to plan activities for each individual toddler. The toddler environment is set up in a spacious area to accommodate for lots of activity and movement. Educators delight in the opportunity to be silly, sing, dance, read, play, and laugh with toddlers. Outdoor play and exploration are also an important part of a toddler’s day to exercise large muscles and burn off energy.

After School

Our program offers school transportation, healthy snacks, and homework assistance in a fun and supportive environment. Kids enjoy creative arts, interactive centers, computers, game consoles, and organized group activities. We provide full-day care on most school holidays.

Kindergarteners

We provide programs to ensure readiness for first grade. This includes reading for kindergarten, and a continued learning of technology and art. Our kindergarten classes combine our L.E.A.P early education curriculum with an environment of fun, open-ended exploration, investigation, discovery, and building self-confidence and self-esteem. It’s the perfect opportunity for optimum growth in academics, socialization, physical fitness, and emotional well-being.

Twaddlers

Our curriculum helps twaddlers explore, and it nurtures their increasing need to communicate. By this point in their early childhood development, twaddlers have expanded their language skills, and our curriculum helps to enhance their ability to communicate verbally.

Toddlers

We understand toddlers are curious, busy, and full of personality. Our Toddler program channels that energy into meaningful learning.
