The toddler program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children from ages 18 months to approximately 36 months. Each toddler classroom is especially designed to provide a beautiful, nurturing environment; the furniture is child-sized and the classroom materials are meticulously maintained and carefully chosen to meet the developmental needs of children at this age. The daily schedule is intentionally unobtrusive and provides plenty of opportunities for learning, cuddling, napping or socializing indoors and outdoors. The emphasis during the toddler years is on building self confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess. In the pre-school program, children are consistently exposed to new ideas. Pre-school is a time of new boundaries and explorations, and our classrooms are set up to reflect that. Each classroom is sectioned into learning centers that the children are able to visit both independently and with teacher guidance. The entire day is based on balance: loud activities, then quiet; individual instruction, then group games; left-brained then right-brained activities. Our curriculum continues with review of the shapes, letters, numbers and colors. More handwriting practice is done working with writing independently in addition to tracing. In our Toddler program, you’ll find carefully selected equipment that our newest walkers love to climb on, crawl through and hide in while stretching their gross motor skills. Teachers also use books, toys, games and other materials to create exciting explorations into colors, shapes, science and more.
