Toddlers are quickly learning so much about the world around them, developing faster than almost any other age group. They are all about speed — learning to sing, talk and run all at once. Lightbridge Academy’s Toddler Program is designed to make the most of every one of their fast-paced milestones. Our curriculum specifically addresses toddlers’ rapid growth and development by catering to their readiness cues, with the older toddler curriculum focused on preparing for preschool and beyond. When they display interest or signs of emerging skills, we can encourage them to move to the next challenge.

Preschool

Preschool provides the freedom and opportunity for children to develop and grow in independence and confidence. An engaged child learns! While having fun, they aren’t even aware they are developing reading and math skills. In addition, your child will gain the social skills necessary to succeed in Pre-K and beyond. Through small and large group instruction and activities, teachers focus on every child as an individual — enabling them to gain knowledge and thrive. Our proprietary Seedlings Early Childhood Education Curriculum utilizes theme-based lessons to strengthen your child’s emerging skills in reading, writing, science, technology and math. Additionally, we help prepare your child for the structured learning environment of a kindergarten classroom through teacher-guided instruction and child-led exploration focused on effective communication, the ability to follow instruction and how to work cooperatively with peers.

In addition to personal care, our toddler teachers focus on approaches to play and learning, cognitive development, communication and language development, physical development, and social & emotional development.

Two's

At Big Blue Marble Academy, we create an environment that nurtures and embraces the high-energy attitudes of two-year-olds by giving them plenty of room to explore. Our curriculum for this age group incorporates music and movement to introduce children to new skills in fun and memorable ways, build their confidence, and help strengthen their love of learning. A typical day can include songs, story time, music, and movement during “Circle Time” and “Free Choice,” which gives children the opportunity to make choices about what activity they would like to participate in based on their own interests. Our childhood program focuses on providing enriching learning experiences for young children in our child care center. Our childhood education classes are designed to support their brain development, promote literacy skills, and introduce new math concepts.

Ivybrook Academy’s Toddler Preschool program is designed for the youngest citizens of our school community. High-quality activities are specifically designed for your child’s attention span and to stimulate their curiosity, and they will learn to express themselves through reading, singing, dancing, and art.

2-Year-Olds

At Ivybrook Academy, we understand that the age of two is a time of wonder and rapid growth. Our half-day program is thoughtfully designed to nurture your child’s natural curiosity, support their developmental milestones, and foster a love for learning. Through hands-on activities, interactive play, and a compassionate environment, we guide your child on their journey of exploration and self-discovery.

Twos Classroom

In the Twos classroom, patient, caring teachers guide children through playful exploration. They help your little one navigate big emotions while providing hands-on learning experiences that nurture their innate curiosity. Your toddler is constantly learning new things about the world around them. At The Goddard School®, our team is here to work with your little one every day as they play, learn and gain the skills they need to prepare for preschool. Ducklings: We recognize that your young toddler has the capacity to learn so much in the first few years of their life by simply having opportunities to explore and play amongst peers. Our teachers encourage learning through daily routines and experiences involving health and physical development, social-emotional development, language and literacy development, and so much more. Your child will enjoy their first steps towards discovering their independence through fun, positive interactions with other children in a safe, structured, and secure environment. Our ducklings curriculum also includes our Global Gull American Sign Language Program. Most young children begin to talk around 12 months old, while some infants even try to communicate with their parents and caregivers even earlier! One way of helping our young children express their feelings, wants, and needs without crying and frustration of a lack of understanding from adults is through simple sign language, commonly known as ‘Baby Core Signs.’ These core signs include words like milk, sleep, play, all done, more, mother, father, etc.

Older Toddlers

Our Cardinal program supports older toddlers and their increased independence, exploration of emotions and feelings, and fast-developing use of language. We also understand and support their continued desire to explore everything about their world. We believe our play-based philosophy and learning center structure gives them the best opportunity to do this. Activities such as ice painting or sorting objects by color will stimulate your child’s inquisitive mind. While in a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment, our program is designed to encourage individual creative expression through your child’s own strengths and interests and foster a passion for learning!
