Kindergarten/First Grade

Children at this age level have an insatiable desire to learn, which we harness to teach them how to think abstractly and utilize their remarkable powers of imagination. Our goal in this program is to help each child develop their natural curiosity and learn how to apply it to academic endeavors.

Kindergarten

In Stratford’s kindergarten program, students tackle math, grammar, phonics, and reading in the morning, while afternoon sessions feature music, writing, Spanish, and science several times each week. Kindergarten students learn to explore subjects more deeply – allowing for greater understanding, more critical thinking, and analysis. Kindergarteners begin formal recitation to develop public speaking skills, and teachers use poetry, music, and reading aloud to promote students’ self-assurance in front of a group. While academically challenging, Stratford kindergarten classes embody the pillars of Stratford School spirit – joyful warmth, sparkling intelligence, and passionate commitment.

Kindergarten Before & After

Need an extra hand with your kindergarten child? We’re here. In the morning, we’re here for you to drop off your child at your convenience, and we provide transportation to their elementary school for their half-day kindergarten program. Then, we’ll pick them up and bring them back to spend the afternoon with us. We also offer flexible enrollment options to fit your family’s schedule and additional opportunities during school breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. Transitional Kindergarten

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program bridges preschool and kindergarten with a nurturing, play-based approach. Children build confidence, independence, and foundational academic skills through hands-on learning, social interaction, and faith-based experiences in small class settings.
