Dr. Montessori understood that a young child has a “qualitatively different mind” than when older, and her principles noted in her book, The Absorbent Mind, speak to the young infant’s sensorial learning.

Toddlers

As your child grows, his/her unique personality develops. Toddlers begin to navigate relationships with other students and playmates. Academically, they thrive with kinetic learning, active discovery, and developing independence with everyday life skills.

Infants

Discovery (6 weeks to 12 months): We celebrate the uniqueness of every baby. To do so, we partner with you to understand your baby’s needs. We provided daily logs of feedings, changings, and updates to keep you informed on all the things—big and little—that are taking place every day for your precious little one. Babies in the Discovery Classrooms will have individual schedules to meet their needs and take part in activities that encourage and develop fine and gross motor skills. To help lift ease the workload for families, we’re partnering with the Cuties Care program to provide diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers while they attend our school. For $10 a week, Cuties Care covers the cost of diapers and wipes. We know parents have a million things to manage—we’re happy to cross diapers off the list. Prices are subject to change.

Toddlers

Investigators (12 months to 24 months): Your toddler is meant to explore, take apart, put together, and question practically everything. Children in our Investigators classrooms learn through developmentally appropriate play in an environment where they can thrive. Toddlers in the Investigators Classroom will exercise their natural curiosity while being exposed to hands-on activities and be encouraged to interact with peers to start building social skills. To help lift ease the workload for families, we’re partnering with the Cuties Care program to provide diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers while they attend our school. For $10 a week, Cuties Care covers the cost of diapers and wipes. We know parents have a million things to manage—we’re happy to cross diapers off the list. Prices are subject to change.

Infants

Families love the balance of nurturing care and milestone development in this program. In a warm, safe, stimulating classroom, children have a primary caregiver to attend to their needs. Plus, our exclusive, milestone-focused curriculum, Learn from the Start™, was developed by our educational experts to focus on key developmental milestones specific to infants. We emphasize each child’s development, rather than specific age, because all children grow and learn at their own pace, and in their own unique way. We’re also here when you need us. Toddlers

You’ll love the safe environment for exploration, excitement, and exercise we provide for your active child. Toddler classrooms also feature our milestone-focused curriculum, Learn from the Start™, focused on the key developmental milestones specific to this age group, with learning experiences designed to address the individual needs of each child, in each classroom. Infant Program

At this age, your infant is mainly learning through observation and exploration. For example, as our Infant teachers talk and sing with your child during feeding, diaper changes and playtime, your little one is beginning to understand language and conversation. Nurturing interactions like these will fill your child’s day and can be adapted and personalized to meet their individual needs.

Toddler Program

In our Toddler program, you’ll find carefully selected equipment that our newest walkers love to climb on, crawl through and hide in while stretching their gross motor skills. Teachers also use books, toys, games and other materials to create exciting explorations into colors, shapes, science and more.

Infants

Our infant program serves children from the ages of six weeks to eighteen months. Our loving and nurturing caregivers respond to each child's needs in our clean, warm and inviting environments. Our goal is designed to duplicate the loving care and nurturing that an infant needs to grow and develop to his or her full potential. Flexible scheduling allows each child to eat, sleep or play according to his or her own natural timetable. Our rooms are equipped with age appropriate materials that provide freedom of movement and gentle stimulation. Babies have their own crib and the attention of the same staff members daily with a low child to staff ratio. Parents receive a written or electronic report daily including all meals, diaper changes, and sleep schedules. *PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer weekend or overnight care.*

Toddlers

The toddler program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children from ages 18 months to approximately 36 months. Each toddler classroom is especially designed to provide a beautiful, nurturing environment; the furniture is child-sized and the classroom materials are meticulously maintained and carefully chosen to meet the developmental needs of children at this age. The daily schedule is intentionally unobtrusive and provides plenty of opportunities for learning, cuddling, napping or socializing indoors and outdoors. The emphasis during the toddler years is on building self confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess. Songs, stories, simple materials, a gentle place and a deep respect for each child ensures that your toddler will truly love his or her school environment and from that, develop a deep long-lasting love for learning. *PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer weekend or overnight care.*

Infant Classroom

In the Infant program, our teachers provide your baby with all the cuddles and care they need, as well as opportunities to begin learning about the world around them. Our proprietary education program, Wonder of Learning™, celebrates your baby’s natural curiosity within the classroom environment and models how to explore safely. Nurturing teachers narrate your baby’s experiences to build a strong foundation in 21st century skills for problem solving and building relationships.

Twos Classroom

In the Twos classroom, patient, caring teachers guide children through playful exploration. They help your little one navigate big emotions while providing hands-on learning experiences that nurture their innate curiosity. Your toddler is constantly learning new things about the world around them. At The Goddard School®, our team is here to work with your little one every day as they play, learn and gain the skills they need to prepare for preschool. Our Wonder of Learning™ education program will immerse your child in literacy, science, arts and math brought together in one activity for a more holistic—and fun—approach to learning.

Toddler Montessori Program

The Montessori method is based upon the observations and discoveries of the first female Italian physician, Dr. Maria Montessori. Her philosophy nurtures the joy of learning in children at an early age, providing a framework in which intellectual and social disciplines coexist. She believed that education is a lifelong process, and it should be an aid to life. Her philosophy was that children learn at their own pace and develop according to their own timetable. Their physical, emotional, psychic, and intellectual abilities are interrelated. Children must have freedom, within clearly defined limits, to develop their full potential. Based on this philosophy, Creative Playrooms Montessori Program provides children with a prepared learning environment that helps them think, organize, and observe. The teacher functions as a guide, aiding children in their choice of developmentally appropriate learning materials. This environment, along with the teacher’s role, distinguishes the Montessori Programs from other educational approaches. Our program encourages self-directed learning where the child is free to explore and discover, allowing them to experience the joy of learning and promoting the development of self-esteem.
