Brightworks is a nonprofit, project-based K-12 independent school located in San Francisco's Presidio, operated as a project of the Institute for Applied Tinkering, a 501(c)(3) organization. The school serves students from early elementary through high school, including a dedicated high school program called Studio Brightworks. Learning is organized around a proprietary framework called the Brightworks Arc, in which students move through cycles of exploration, expression, and exposition using student-driven projects.

Description
Brightworks Middle School grounds grades 6–8 in project-based learning, where students take increasing ownership of complex, multi-step projects while collaborators explicitly teach project management, iteration, growth mindset, and reflection as foundational skills.

Description
Studio Brightworks is a dedicated studio model high school program. Students work through the Brightworks Arc—a cycle of collaborative exploration, self-directed project work, and public exposition completed twice per year—building a Professional Portfolio of Authentic Work.
