Description
As your toddler gains confidence through meaningful classroom interactions and a strong parent-educator partnership, they will learn to navigate first relationships and begin to find their place in the world through words and actions. Your child will: engage in story time, interact with environmental print and explore books, begin making behavioral choices, such as washing their hands before lunch, begin to recognize attributes of people and objects, play with puzzles, use spatial awareness and identifies multiple ways to solutions, explore graphic tools (markers, crayons, chalk) and leave marks on large papers, and mimic real world experiences such rocking a baby, cooking, answering the phone. We offer part-time and full-time options in our Nido program. Early Care is offered for Preschool students (Nidos to Pre-K4) to start their day at 8:00 am. Children have an opportunity to arrive 45 minutes earlier and engage in free play in their classroom under the supervision of their teachers. Siblings of Elementary students can enjoy this program at no cost once registered.

Description
While your child continues to discover a stronger sense of self, the Pre-K2 class purposely supports their increasing independence as they continue to build a strong foundation for the years to come. Children are encouraged to accept measured risk and become more self-sufficient as they begin to: engage in back-and-forth communicative interactions with adults and peers and begin to connect language with ideas, understanding of number sense including: one to one correspondence, counting, more/less, solve problems trying out many different solutions, support hand muscle development through a variety of materials such as manipulating clay by pounding, poking, tearing, squeezing, and rolling, thus strengthening future development of pencil grips and controlled movement, and engage in associative play and recognize peers by name. Each day in Pre-K3 is filled with increasing learning opportunities that will ignite your child’s curiosity, interest in communication, and connection with peers. Children continue to express themselves with even greater depth and precision as they learn to develop listening comprehension and emergent literacy skills through extended vocabulary, communication, and read-alouds. They will make logical predictions based on pictures and begin to make real world connections between stories and real-life experiences. They will learn to develop hypotheses, theories based on observations, questions, and investigations. They'll begin to represent their ideas/thoughts through a variety of ways, explore number sense, representation, spatial sense, and non standard measurement estimation, and give meaning to their creations. Our vibrant Pre-K4 class exposes children to a variety of materials and experiences to encourage an exchange of ideas and create a rich learning environment. Our educators guide your preschooler’s curiosity and thoughts to create meaningful academic, social, and emotional experiences to ensure readiness for Kindergarten. As your child prepares for the elementary grades they will experience learning opportunities at a greater depth and breadth by enjoying and participating in stories and understand that print carries meaning. They will attempt to read and write and express age-appropriate phonological awareness in distinguishing individual words within spoken phrases or sentences. They will recognize shapes in isolation and the real world; sorts by color, shape, size and purpose. They will understand the relationship between numbers and quantities to experience and explore combining (add) and removing (subtract) with concrete materials. They'll be able to describe relationships between objects and locations with words and gestures by constructing models to demonstrate an understanding of proximity (besides, next to, between, below, over and under). They'll develop special friendships and be able to engage in prosocial behavior as well as engage in associative play and begins to play cooperatively. Your kindergartener is gaining the skills that will support them for years to come – and it's our goal to help build and connect these skills to daily life. In our safe and nurturing environment, your child will make meaningful learning strides in the following areas. Language Arts – Students find critical connections with oral and written language as they foster a love and respect for literacy. Reading – Kindergarteners develop and strengthen their knowledge of letters, begin to read words, and explore children’s literature independently and in group. Description
After Care is offered for KLA Academy students of all grade levels (Nidos to 5th Grade), beginning as soon as they are dismissed from class, and ending at 6:00 pm. During these hours, children enjoy age-appropriate activities under the careful supervision of our After Care team. The program includes homework time, both indoor and outdoor play, games, arts & crafts, and other engaging activities. Afternoon snacks are provided for students from Pre-K2 to 5th Grade, and must be sent from home for children in Nido. Students must be pre-registered to attend.

Description
Our Summer Camp program is open to KLA Academy students as well as to the public in our one-of-a-kind facility in Brickell. Weeklong camps such as arts, math, sport are offered in June and July, typically from 9 AM to 4 PM. We have programs for students of all ages, from preschool to 5th grade. Families can join for as many sessions as they'd like.
