We’re committed to help each of our students win — in and out of the classroom. We’ve designed our traditional, back-to-basics curriculum to help develop all of the important characteristics that make successful, well-rounded kids from kindergarten to 8th grade. With strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics, Legacy students are impacting their communities through the arts, athletics, and innovative clubs and programs. We’re proud to help build bright futures and serve our local communities. Legacy Traditional School – North Valley is proudly designated as a “Purple Star School” with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). MCEC Purple Star Schools specialize in supporting military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent’s change in duty station.

Legacy Traditional School’s elementary curriculum provides a well-rounded education emphasizing key academic and developmental areas. The language arts program follows the Spalding Method with The Writing Road to Reading, integrating listening, speaking, spelling, writing, and reading to foster skilled readers, writers, and critical communicators. Core components include composition, oral communication, literature, spelling, and vocabulary. In science, students explore concepts through investigations, lab equipment, readings, and interactive technology, promoting logical thinking. Math is taught with enVision Math, which builds deep understanding through progressive lessons and real-world applications, aligned with state standards and accessible from home via Schoology integration. Social studies covers world, U.S., and Nevada history, along with geography and civic responsibilities. Art classes expose students to art history, vocabulary, and a range of media, fostering creative expression through the Art Masterpiece program, which deepens their understanding of artistic techniques and historical significance. Our computer classes teach fundamental tech skills, keyboarding, and cyber-safety. Legacy is internationally accredited by Cognia, which assures high educational standards through rigorous evaluations.

Legacy’s junior high program is built on the same values parents hold dear—offering a safe, caring environment where students can learn, grow, and achieve their best. We believe education should be well-rounded, focusing not only on academics but also on character and personal development. Rather than centering solely on test scores, our approach aims to foster complete students who are prepared for all areas of life. When students feel supported and engaged, scores improve naturally, talents emerge, and strong character takes shape. Our curriculum includes enVision Math for deep conceptual learning with visual models and personalized lessons, and the Spalding Language Arts program, which hones skills in spelling, writing, reading, and handwriting through both group and individualized instruction. Physical health and confidence are promoted through the Momentum Fitness Program, providing 45 minutes of exercise four days a week, while the Mozart Performing Arts Program allows students to explore music and performance. The Standards of Citizenship curriculum teaches responsibility, kindness, and the importance of civic engagement, helping students appreciate their roles in their communities and as citizens. Together, these programs ensure students are prepared for academic and personal success.

Our hands-on, engaging activities allow for extended school year learning in a fun, activity-based environment. Students will also receive a Legacy Summer lunch bag and water bottle. Space is limited.
