Sheenway School and Culture Center is a nonprofit private day school serving the Watts/South Los Angeles community, founded after Dr. Herbert A. Sheen donated his life savings to establish an indigenous teaching and learning center. The curriculum incorporates project-based learning, a whole-child approach, inclusion practices, personalized learning, and a STEEAMM framework (Science, Technology, Engineering, Exercise, Arts, Math, and Morals). Extracurricular programs include a student bakery focused on entrepreneurship, performing arts, cricket, and a 4-H garden program. A sister campus in the Volta Region of Ghana is connected through shared curriculum and virtual technology.
