With just two infants per teacher, babies receive close, individualized attention throughout the day. From feeding and diapering to comforting and play, our low ratio allows caregivers to respond quickly, build strong bonds, and support each child’s development.

Toddler Program

Toddlers are curious, energetic, & eager to explore the world around them. Our Toddler Program gives children the freedom to explore, the confidence to try new things, and the support to grow at their own pace all in a warm, loving environment.

Lake Harriet Community Child Care Infants

Our infant space has room for 8 children. We make sure all infants grow and learn at their own pace by providing plenty of tummy and floor time, sensory activities, and age-appropriate learning materials. In the warmer months we go on walks and splash around in water tables, just like the big kids!

Lake Harriet Community Child Care Toddler

We make sure toddlers have plenty of chances to work one-on-one with teachers, in small groups, and with their whole class. Our toddlers get outside as much as possible, as well. Even in the winter, the toddlers go outside to explore and play! The toddlers enjoy art, circle time, and free play!

At this age, your infant is mainly learning through observation and exploration. For example, as our Infant teachers talk and sing with your child during feeding, diaper changes and playtime, your little one is beginning to understand language and conversation. Nurturing interactions like these will fill your child’s day and can be adapted and personalized to meet their individual needs.

Toddler Program

In our Toddler program, you’ll find carefully selected equipment that our newest walkers love to climb on, crawl through and hide in while stretching their gross motor skills. Teachers also use books, toys, games and other materials to create exciting explorations into colors, shapes, science and more.

Even in our infant care room, we foster and nurture your child’s budding independence. With plenty of floor space your child can move and explore, as they are ready.

The long term positive impact seeds of Montessori truly begin to take root at the Toddler age.

Infant Daycare

Infant program offering a physically and emotionally safe place for your baby to explore and learn about the world around them. Shoe-free policy ensures that classrooms are clean and safe for little ones to move around. Daily routine includes time outdoors, group time, and discovery baskets for sensory exploration. Trained teachers spend time cuddling, singing, and reading to your child.

Toddler Daycare

Toddlers are on the go, exploring and learning new things throughout each day. Classrooms are kid-size in design, allowing children to do more things independently, building their self-confidence. Photos of the children’s families cover the walls of the classroom, creating a sense of community. Our program is geared towards children ages 6 weeks through 16 months. We have a caring and devoted staff who create a comforting environment for our infants. Our unique approach to learning starts with even our youngest children. In our infant room, we begin early sign language and flash card use.

At Woodpark, we begin more structured learning in the Toddler room. We incorporate exciting play opportunities for our toddlers alongside beginning Montessori education.
