Intermediates

Our Intermediates program for 3-year-olds encourages hands-on exploration through learning centers focused on early literacy, math, and science. Our Links to Learning curriculum also helps children develop independence, practice social-emotional skills like sharing, taking turns, and understanding emotions, and build strong friendships. We also foster appreciation for diversity to create an inclusive, caring community.

Pre-K

Our Pre-K program prepares children for kindergarten and beyond by fostering classroom readiness skills, nurturing social-emotional growth through our character education program, and strengthening literacy and math skills. With our Links to Learning curriculum, your child will begin to express ideas through writing, solve math equations, develop an understanding and appreciation for diversity, and work together to create a strong classroom community. For children who miss the kindergarten cut-off, we offer additional academic rigor.

Preschool

FLA helps your three- and four-year-olds master age-appropriate activities, gain gross- and fine motor skills, and learn to socialize and follow rules. They will have opportunities for solo and group learning and exploring, continued practice of academic building blocks (early writing, reading, math), and will focus on emotional development, problem-solving, and school readiness. Pre-K

Children in the Pathfinders Classroom will be asked to complete more concrete tasks so they’re prepared for the next steps in their education. Our goal is to ensure your child has mastered all the necessary skills to enter Kindergarten by providing individualized planning, challenging your child, and considering their progress. Math, science, writing, and reading are emphasized. Small group activities strengthen social- and problem-solving skills. Key Kindergarten-required skills are practiced and perfected. The Bridge classroom is a purposeful year of preschool prep designed for children with birthdays later in the year or children who may need more time to strengthen self-care skills or social-emotional development. Pre-Primary (Preschool)

Our Pre-Primary class ranges in age from 2 to 3 years. At this age, children are challenged with trying to communicate their ideas and emotions. We give them the tools they need to navigate through this stage. Each child is treated as an individual, with their own ideas, expressions, and opinions. We provide outlets that represent the child’s many “languages.” These can include drawing, painting, sculpture, shadow play, dramatic play, scientific observations, gardening and music. We believe that parents should determine when and how much preschool is right for their children. With our Traditional Preschool Program, you select the number of sessions you would like, which days of the week, and whether you would like mornings or afternoons. We have amazing preschool teachers that utilize the terrific Creative Curriculum®system. This method leverages children’s natural curiosity to explore and learn more about the world around them. Our sessions are a little longer than most preschools – 3 hours – to allow for more learning time. If you need care before or after preschool, you can transition into or out of our Flexible Childcare program to meet your needs.

2-Year-Olds

At Ivybrook Academy, we understand that the age of two is a time of wonder and rapid growth.
