The Kindergarten curriculum closely follows the principles of Montessori education. Our holistic approach to education is evident as we support the opportunities for development socially, physically, intellectually and emotionally for each child. Children are able to move on when ready for a new challenge. Therefore, lessons are presented in small groups to the children and through observation, the teacher determines when the child has internalized a concept and is ready for a new concept.The Kindergarten year highlights critical thinking, independence, comprehension, and preparedness for elementary.

Kindergarten

Full-day program providing a kindergarten experience that will fully prepare children for elementary school. Child-led and project-based curriculum encourages teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Daily routine includes STEM activities and interactive games. Caring teachers ensure that your child gets plenty of practice in math, reading, writing, and science.

Kindergarten

Our kindergarten curriculum focuses on developing foundational skills that prepare students for later learning in the areas of math, science, social studies and language arts. Group discussions of books are lead by teachers as students begin to identify characters, settings, and major events in a story. Children begin to develop writing skills with guidance by using a combination of drawing, storytelling, and writing to convey an event or share an opinion. They'll begin to understand the relationship between numbers and quantities learning to count to 100 by ones and tens and write numbers from zero to twenty. They are also introduced to life science, physical science, earth science, and space science.

The Kindergarten year at Highland Montessori is the "leadership year." Students master advanced concepts in math and language while mentoring younger peers. This capstone experience solidifies their academic foundation and fosters a sense of responsibility and self-assurance.

Kindergarten students learn to explore subjects more deeply – allowing for greater understanding, more critical thinking, and analysis. Kindergarteners begin formal recitation to develop public speaking skills, and teachers use poetry, music, and reading aloud to promote students’ self-assurance in front of a group. Elementary School

Our accelerated, sequential, and cross-disciplinary elementary curriculum builds upon the fundamentals that students learn during their Preschool years. In our Elementary program, we integrate critical thinking and collaborative projects so that students discover the value of both independent thinking and working together. We complement our academic instruction with a focus on developing every child’s potential through social, emotional, and personal character education to help each student become articulate and respectful. We inspire our students to ask big questions about the real world, we challenge them to think beyond our classroom walls, and we show them how to learn from these experiences.

Golden Bridges' kindergarten is part of the school's Waldorf-inspired early childhood program, where a mixed-age model pairs kindergarteners with preschoolers — children first join as 'Youngers' and return as 'Elders' — building confidence and leadership through imaginative play, handwork, oral storytelling, and weekly full days at Hawk Creek Farm.

Grades 1-5

Grades 1–5 at Golden Bridges School is the lower elementary portion of a Waldorf-inspired K–8 program that integrates academic foundations with experiential learning, the arts, and environmental stewardship, including a full day each week at the school's working farm, Hawk Creek Farm.

They are trained in personalized, one-to-one education and are subject matter experts. In the one-to-one setting, they also act as mentors to their students. NOTE: This tuition rate includes 5 tutoring sessions.
