Assistant Teacher

Job Description

*Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and early childhood development strategies
*Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management techniques
*Provide hands-on childcare and toddler care, ensuring safety and comfort for all children in the classroom
*Work with children individually or in small groups to support learning needs, including those with autism or disabilities
*Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and creativity
*Participate in classroom activities such as circle time, arts and crafts, and outdoor play to foster social skills and physical development
*Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum enhancements and adapt lesson plans for diverse learners

Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments is preferred
Knowledge of childhood development principles, Montessori or preschool methodologies is a plus
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is advantageous
Ability to be flexible and adaptable as a floater across different classrooms and age groups
Certification or coursework in special education, early childhood education, or related fields is beneficial but not required
