Facility Assistant/Floater

Job Description

Sunrise Heavenly Sent Preschool is seeking dedicated, flexible, and compassionate Facility Assistant/Floaters to support the daily operations of our nurturing and faith-based early childhood education environment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the preschool by providing assistance across classrooms, maintaining facility cleanliness and safety, and supporting both staff and children wherever needed.

The Facility Assistant/Floater will rotate between classrooms and facility areas to offer support to lead teachers, assist with child supervision, help prepare activities, and ensure a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, enthusiastic, and capable of adapting quickly to meet the dynamic needs of the children and staff throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support: Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities. Provide hands-on support with learning activities, playtime, meals, and nap routines.

Child Supervision: Monitor and engage children in age-appropriate activities, ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive environment at all times.

Floater Duties: Step into various classrooms as needed to support staffing needs due to breaks, absences, or increased child-to-teacher ratios.

Facility Maintenance: Perform light cleaning duties such as sanitizing toys, surfaces, and common areas. Ensure classrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces are clean, safe, and well-stocked.

Meal & Snack Assistance: Help with food preparation, distribution, and cleanup during meal and snack times.

Outdoor Supervision: Support playground supervision and ensure safe outdoor play experiences.

Health & Safety: Assist with enforcing health, hygiene, and safety protocols in line with licensing regulations and school policies.

Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents as needed. Foster a supportive and cooperative work environment.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; early childhood education coursework or experience preferred

Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting is highly desirable

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing needs

Patience, kindness, and a genuine love for working with children

Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and kneeling
