Temporary Early Learning Center Lead (14-Week Assignment)

Job Description

Join UCP of Central Arizona for a meaningful short-term leadership opportunity supporting our Early Learning Center. Our center serves a small, focused preschool program of approximately 20 children ages 3–5, allowing staff to build strong relationships with children and families while providing individualized support. In this role, you will provide daily oversight of a team consisting of 3 regular staff members and 2 on-call substitute teachers, helping ensure consistent operations and high-quality care. This 14-week assignment blends hands-on classroom engagement with operational coordination to maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Program & Classroom Operations

· Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and ensure proper classroom supervision at all times

· Create and manage employee schedules

· Assist lead teacher with lesson planning aligned with NAEYC and Quality First curriculum standards

· Maintain attendance, sign-in/out records, and weekly billing statements

· Ensure activity and room preparations are completed daily

· Maintain organized classrooms and manage supply inventory/orders

· Follow and enforce all policies and procedures

Child & Family Engagement

· Assist children with daily living activities (meals, hygiene, classroom routines)

· Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities and play

· Communicate daily with parents during drop-off/pick-up and through ProCare

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

· Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field

· 2–3 years of progressive responsibility in a licensed Child Development Center

· Minimum 3 years of verifiable teaching experience

· Experience supervising or supporting staff
