We found Acorn KinderHouse through the Ducks & Ducklings program. What I love most is it feels like home away from home. I love that the children have a rhythm and know what to expect each day. They get to take morning walks in nature, learn fun songs, feed chickens (and now pet the bunnies), learn how to chop vegetables, bake bread, learn finger crafts, molding beeswax, wet on wet painting, and everything about is natural. Lots of wooden toys to play with indoors & they get to wear cozy slippers, just like at home! The teachers are so comforting to the children when they need a little bit of love. My son needed that. I recommend you try their summer camps or ducklings classes.

Acorn KinderHouse provides a loving environment for children to grow and learn. This is a school providing a Waldorf education and the teachers are extremely knowledgable in child development. You can tell the teachers truly care about every single child. I attended the mommy and me classes before enrolling my children in the school to get a better idea if this was the right fit for my children. I can say without a doubt, this school was a right choice! My kids have gained so much confidence since attending Acorn KinderHouse. I highly recommend checking out Acorn as an option for your family.

My child and I participated in the mommy and me program for several weeks... a great way to get familiar with the school and staff before enrolling in their school. It was a fun experience and we decided to enroll for the school year. I absolutely love this school on so many levels. The staff are incredible. Waldorf is new to me but love the community and imagination based style of play, learning and life. They have so many traditions and events throughout the year that are magical. Nature based and a dim calm environment. The have a unique rhthym of the day that you won't find at just any school. They play outside, feed chickens, sing, open play, snack, story time, art, and so much more. I am looking forward to being part of the Acorn family for the next few years!

I am in LOVE with this school! And so is my child! He loves going there and has truly blossomed and grown so much. I am seriously blown away by the teachers and their devotion and passion for teaching these kids with such a nurturing, compassionate and loving spirit. Their hearts are so in what they do and they cherish each and every child as precious and valuable-making them the priority. They have absolutely gone above and beyond in answering any questions I have had, and they have been so helpful in educating about the Waldorf method and it’s quite magical ways it influences a child. I’ve been so inspired and it has only grown my love for Waldorf even more! I really cannot recommend this school enough. If you are searching for a safe, loving, play-based, creative environment for your child, this is the place to be!

My son attended Acorn KinderHouse for 2 years, and we can't possibly rave about it enough! The Waldorf setting and curriculum was absolutely spectacular for him - and, I believe, every child. A year later, he still always talks about wanting to see Ms. Abigail again, she is INCREDIBLE! Our whole experience was positively magical. I should add that I drove from over half an our away everyday for those 2 years, and it would have been worth twice the drive! I implore anyone at all near Clarkston to check out Acorn KinderHouse. Even if you are totally new to Waldorf education, or aren't even looking for it, you will fall in love after a tour.
