Parent Reviews
I applaud the staff and leadership. This is going into about the third week for my grandson, and I personally have already seen improvement in his education and conversation through his interaction with all the staff and students. My grandson gives us a daily report on his engagement, and regularly completes assignments and follows rules. I personally again thank the leaders and staff. It has been a real pleasure.
As a single parent with an only child who is used to quiet time, small environments, and limited exposure to larger groups of children based on his early experience with a licensed, in-home child care provider, I was extremely nervous about putting my son into day care. I realized, however, it was time to prepare my four-year-old for Kindergarten. I checked out a few Prekindergarten programs in the area and Kindercare in Calverton was the place that stood out the most. I was so impressed with the KinderCare's program features, classroom activities, even the schedule. They make time for creative arts, preparing food, journal writing and phonics! Kindercare in Calverton was my third day care visit over two years. The meeting with the Center Director was nothing short of a blessing. She made me feel welcomed and open to all of my questions. She put me at total ease. After our meeting, I got to say hi to the teachers and see how things worked in the classroom. Since I enrolled my son at Calverton Kindercare, every day, I'm still so impressed and excited by the atmosphere. The friendliness, patience and warmth of the Director and staff is a joy and a comfort. Most important, I'm constantly surprised by the amount my son is learning. He's writing his name, trying to spell out words, even reciting math problems like "2+2=4." And, he's even drawing and coloring new things where before he was only interested in scribbling. He has a new song almost every day, too! They allow him to be who he is and express his emotions and I have a sensitive little guy so that's much appreciated. I know how much he loves Calverton Kindercare because he always tells me how much he misses his teachers and even tells me that his teachers love him! And, right before Thanksgiving, he told me he didn't want to go on vacation because he wanted to keep learning and didn't want to miss all the fun. For me, KinderCare is like an extended family for my son.
My children have had a wonderful time at KinderCare. My two-year-old son speaks very well compared to many kids of his age, and my daughter, who is not four yet, knows her alphabet, her numbers, she can read and write to a certain extent; and she holds constructive conversations. The environment at KinderCare is very encouraging and positive and I think being there is helping my children in many ways.
