Our child LOVED Carels Family Child Care, or "Playcare," as we called it. Kiddo would march right in, hardly say goodbye, they were so ready to be there and play with their friends. Activities and toys rotated frequently; lots of art projects , sensory experiences, holiday-themed fun. Dancing, singing, reading, running around, and so much sand. We loved that it was mostly outdoors, and in the summer they have almost daily water play (real crowd-pleaser for toddlers). Kim and Lisa are wonderful, know each child as an individual, and send lots of photos and videos of the fun the kids are having together and alone. The mixed ages (baby thru 4 or 5) makes it so the kids start out by having older kids to emulate, and slowly grow into the "big" kids who are models for the new little ones. Kim and Lisa prepared our kiddo for preschool/school setting, following a loose daily structure, but really giving the kids freedom to explore and do what interested them. The one logistical challenge was no summer Fridays, but we made it work and it was worth it. Our older kid was also lucky to have a different in-home daycare a few years ago, but that provider had retired by the time #2 was ready for daycare. We were so lucky to find Carels' when we did--and when they had an opening. Our kiddo was barely 1, and got to stay almost 3 years. It was sad to leave, but our kiddo was ready. If you're looking for a small, in-home daycare, I can't recommend Carels Family Child Care enough.

My son attended day care here for three years, and it was a wonderful experience for our family. He was treated with kindness and love and learned so many things here. I truly feel this was an important stepping stone on his path to elementary school. This isn’t a sit your kid in the corner and hope for the best type of day care. I received pictures through out the day of the activities going on, and my son always had a new fun story to tell me upon picking him up. His birthday was celebrated every year, which really shows the extra level of attention provided here. I would recommend Carels Family Child Care to any and everyone. There is no greater peace of mind than knowing your child is safe, having fun, and learning, while out of your care. Thank you for everything!
