Parent Reviews
My kids had a truly wonderful experience at this school. We feel incredibly grateful for the care, patience, and intentional guidance they received during their time here. The teachers created an environment where both of my children felt safe, respected, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. We have watched them become more independent, confident, curious, and thoughtful — qualities that reflect the heart of a strong Montessori education. The school nurtured not only their academic development, but also their social and emotional growth. What stands out most is the genuine love and attention the staff gives each child. They took the time to understand my children as individuals, celebrate their strengths, and gently support them through challenges. That kind of care is rare, and it has meant so much to my family. This school is a beautiful foundation, and I would highly recommend it to any family looking for a warm, thoughtful, and enriching Montessori environment.
My son is in the K-prep honors program. So far I could not be happier about my son's experience at CMMS. In just four months, he has learned to hold a pencil properly, begun drawing, and gone from carefully writing his own name to comfortably copying out words and associating them with colors, pictures, etc. He has also begun bringing home math worksheets in which he is doing addition. I really appreciate that CMMS puts the four year olds in with the kindergarteners. He is excited to tell me what he did every day, and it is clear that he is getting a lot of attention from the teachers. Every child that we see in the hallways seems happy and so does every parent. I am very grateful for what the teachers and staff at CMMS have done for my child. I have nothing negative to say. This is the education that my son deserves. Maybe your kids, too.
We have been delighted with our experience at CMMS Ellicott City. Our two children have thrived there, and have been surrounded by teachers and staff that create a very warm and caring environment. The program and curriculum allowed our son and daughter to both enjoy just being kids and discovering a love of learning while also guiding them along the path of understanding age appropriate concepts. The lessons always felt geared towards encouraging them to gain knowledge and stretch themselves without being too rigid. Our son was very well prepared to start Kindergarten this year and that was absolutely thanks to the dedication, consistency, and love of his teachers at CMMS EC. Our daughter is part of a tight-knit community of adorable little learners in her class. I am always in awe of how their teachers achieve such a good balance of calmness, fun, enrichment, and cooperation.
I enjoy Children's Manor Montessori Ellicott City. I have 2 school aged boys (3 and 5) and they both attended CMMS after we moved to Howard County from Los Angeles, CA this past year. We were looking at schools from across the country, which was a very stressful process, and CMMS came as a referral from a friend who also has children at the school. We were resistant at first, because we were not familiar with the Montessori practice, but attending this school has been one of the best decisions we've made. The teachers are very intentional and communicative. The school is clean and constantly making improvements to make it better. In my opinion, concerns and direct feedback are immediately addressed. They offer a variety of programs to the students, including but not limited to language, sports, music. I also appreciate the diversity that we see on a daily basis. I am very grateful that we found this school and specific location, and would recommend it to other families.
