Parent Reviews
Great teachers, strange service philosophy and administration. First I will say there are several caring and lovely teachers at Christ that took wonderful care of our kids. But the overall administration created some serious friction and lapses in care. Our family attended daycare at Christ for more than 5 years including during the pandemic. As of 2026, the hours had not returned to pre-pandemic hours despite the world being back to normal. This was something we asked about regularly and got very non-committal responses. There was also a tendency to call off care for cold or snow days when no other daycares in town were closed (just because LPS closes for cold does not mean a daycare should close- kids aren’t walking to daycare like school). Several other families left because of the snow days creating so much frustration for their families. Through my communication with the administration, I observed that there was not a strong service philosophy. The focus was very much on the teachers, and while important, the teachers are not the customer who are paying for the service. There was not a reverence for the fact that a daycare is a critical service that helps parents maintain their employment. The communication from the administration was poor overall. The first example of this was when they discontinued the school age program, it occurred mid-semester and with just two weeks notice. Our good friends were absolutely panicked trying to find a place for their son. I observed a late start not be communicated effectively leading to parents being greeted by a locked door (arguably it should not have been a late start). And finally rate increases were not well communicated or clearly justified . One such rate increase was 14% but came with a 15 minute increase in hours. Neither thing was clearly communicated and parents were rushing to get their kids still even after the hours had expanded. Those two things could have been communicated very easily together (we are increasing rates and that’s allowing us to provided more margin for you). Overall, after switching to another nearby, church run daycare, I can say confidently that the service mentality at Christ is flawed. While the teachers certainly do a wonderful job, I found the administration really hard to rely on for one of the most important services in my family’s life.
