We absolutely love this school! After visiting several schools in the area, this one stood out to us right away. The teachers are caring, attentive, and truly invested in each child's growth and well-being. One thing that has meant so much to our family is how seriously they take my child's food allergies. Whenever the children are going to try a new food or activity involving food, the teachers always communicate with me beforehand. That level of care and attention gives me tremendous peace of mind. The teacher-to-student ratio is excellent, and every child receives plenty of individual attention. My child comes home excited every day, often with beautiful art projects and crafts to show us. We also love that the curriculum includes Spanish, music, hands-on learning activities, and fun science experiments. The children are learning so much while still having plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and be creative. The warm, nurturing environment has helped my child grow in confidence, independence, and social skills. We couldn't be happier with our experience and highly recommend this school to any family looking for a caring and enriching preschool program.
Excellent preschool! Teachers are wonderful! Parents have the opportunity to assist in the classroom as well as serving on the school board. Children are respected and play to learn under the careful planning, observation, and guidance by the teachers!
We are loving the Cooperative Nursery School. My son had stayed home with me since birth - 2 years old so I was very anxious about transitioning him to a daycare/school setting. We started attending Good Beginnings play group first and I love how the play group mimics the 2's class preschool routine so my son became comfortable with the classroom with me present. Then, he enrolled in the 2's class - and he transitioned wonderfully! Miss Regina and Miss Jenna took a lot of care to make him comfortable with them. Now he is really enjoying it and we couldn't be happier! You do not have to be potty trained to attend!
When you're looking for a preschool, they can all start to blend together. But when we visited Cooperative Nursery School, we were able to see the classes in action, walk through the space, we were greeted happily by all the teachers, families of actively enrolled students. It was such a lovely welcome. I felt at ease and my child was excited to be there. If you or your child are nervous about the transition to school, Coop has an early childhood program, Good Beginnings, where you and your child attend together, getting an abbreviated experience of the 2, 3 & 4's classes for preschool. Your child gets acclimated to the space and the staff, creating a safe environment. The Coop model includes assisting parents in the classroom, serving on the school board, attending school activities, etc. This school becomes a part of your family, and you have the lovely opportunity to see your Coop friends around town. We just love stumbling upon our coop family friends all summer long, and look forward to seeing them in the Fall for the next class.
